Sir! I received your message during the holidays but was alas too aloof and or busy to make heads or tails of it... They are not in my possession, as last remarked wence we last spoke of this matter. I will again inquire with my ex, but as we are not on the best of terms, said response may linger deafly... this was over 2 years ago Alex, for shame.

Ufot-nothing lasts forever

I need a pair of DJ headphones.. I have an expensive pair of studio headphones but I want my old Technics 1200s back.. I'll have to get another set.. the last ones I got at cost for 160 bucks cash, and they lasted me 5 years of everyday use DJing and as walkman headphones before the plastic broke on the ear piece

sorry just thinking out loud.. back to your headphone thread =)

denon: dnhp1000 @ 173.99

more for studio monitoring:
audio-technica: ath-m50 @ 189.99
sennheiser: hd380 pro @ 151.95

personaly... i would recommend the sennheiser ones... its the better price/quality you can have for that price range...

but if u wanna go a little higher in quality .. check out the AKG ones...
k271,k601,k702 ... dont check out lower than the [ k271s...ca ] the qualitys not great and for the price u can get something better...

hope it helps u... and again... if u really want to... come see me at steves..ill help you out!

Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE me princess but I've compared the k240mk2 with the k271 a lot and I don't regret the 240 at all. The ear fatigue is way slower with the semi-open ended than the closed ones and sound quality is WAY better.
If you say they're for monitoring/producing and not for DJing, should I say to you that there is ALWAYS a way to use any headphones.

of course u can use any headphones the way you want to... its just that dj headphones will have a boost on the bass while the ones more for monitoring are flat... you do what you want... im just putting my two cents... take it or leave it. :P.... AND im not a MTF princess!! :D

Just a question I want to ask to everyone : why the DJ headphones? I mean if you only do beatmatching, most of the informations about time (like the attack of a kick or body of the percs and even the melodies) are in the 1-3khz zone. With DJ headphones, you have half of the Loudness V (the low frequencies part of the V) so you won't have much more informations except maybe that your ears are now overloaded with more informations and take more time to actually decodify the audio signal to analyse the "time informations" (i don't have a good term to qualify these though...).
I'm just asking but seriously, I remember that when I bought my first monitoring headphones (Sony MDR-7506...they even have a lil' bass boost on these) it was quite easier to mix since I was able to be more accurate on the attacks of my drums.

P.S. I gotta quote this line once a day else I'm getting brain cancer due to too much internet exposition.

the camo Audio Technica's have indeed gone up in price.

they are no longer $80+ tax anywhere... if you do find them cheap, they will be on sale/liquidation etc.

I paid $109+ tax for mine at Steves, I also saw them at Moog on sale for around $114 a month or two later.

the only single thing I have to say bad about them, is that when they are around my neck, they are tight, compared to some of the previous pairs of headphones I've had...
I'm feeling like a sketchbook! right now..
