Metro Pathing problem: given the metro map 2010 what path must one take to go over as many stations as possible? conditions You may not: go over any station on the map more than once You may: start at any station and change where ever that is possible... try to answer the following: 1) which path? 2) how many stations? 3) is this path the same as the longest Km traveled with the same path and same conditions...?(you may have to consult the STM website for help on this one to get the actual distances of the lines and spaces between stations) bonus: is or is it not possible to create a path which allows you to go over all the stations, why or why not explain your answer... you can do Logico-Deductive proofs or Geometric Representations whatever is your pleasure i would do this my self but i just don't even have the time to sit down for a few hours and prove some of these things so i thought i would leave it to the Brainz of the Board and see what happens well good luck everyone and enjoy, remember it's just for fun so play nice...

I cant answer that problem. I mean, after 3-4 stations the metro will fuck up, stop and we'll have to take the bus instead anyway lol

I'm totally not gonna punch it into the website to see the distance, but IMO the longest way you can go without doing a double-station would be:
Montmorency to Jean Talon to Snowdon to Lionel Groulx to Honore Beaugrand the only line you don't ride (but still 'touch') is the yellow line
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now.. |

You wanna do all the stations, you can;
Take Montmorency to Cote-Vertu (Orange Line) Then go back to Snowdon (Orange Line) Go to St-Michel (Blue Line) Then go back to Jean-Talon (BLue Line) Go to Berri-Uqam (Orange Line) Take the green line any way you want, stay on the car(train-wagon) until you made all the green one's (Green Line) Then take the Metro to Longueuil (Yellow Line) So you did all the stations... I hope for you in day lol, easy shot
I'm feeling to be determined right now.. |

i don't think you can do all of them, and i'm pretty sure if i sit down i can prove it. basically it comes back to the fact you can't go back on your self, so you can never get all the arms that are sticking out, you can get some of them but not all of them, if you go for some you can't get others...
