any recommandation for a good sound system for a computer? I want to pay between 100$-400$, i want something that will sound awesome and can be powerfull if necessary.

I don't care to pay the price for something that will tough for a long time and won't sound like shit

thanks for your time!

I've got the 6, they're fucking great. Best sounding speakers I've ever heard for the price and size.. easily comparable to stuff I've heard at audiophile shows for 200x the price.. the only thing is that they don't have a sub, but they still go pretty damn low in terms of frequency, and you wouldn't really need a sub unless you're producing or just really want some intense bass.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

they look neat, though kind of big

im limited in space, like i have none, so i've been looking at some Bose small speakers, but with great crazy sound

i read good reviews for the companion 3. yet a little pricey, i really enjoy the fact that it's only 2 speakers, and small ones, but powerful like 6.

I went to futurshop yesterday and start looking and hearing all the model. The seller was talking about the Altec Lansing not being expensive and great. But i don't know, looks cheap and the sub looks too big for nothing. Don't know why, but i have no trust in the little slim plastic speaker. (and by trust I mean they seem to break easily) the sound wasn't too bad, the guy put the volume as high as he could to impress me, it did sound loud, but that's not my definition of quality sound
(+ he did the sound test with some dance music, so yeah they sound alright, but there was no vocals in the tune so for my personal taste, hard to judge)

wasn't too bad, but meh. My heart really went for those Bose companion 3 i saw

Since i won't use them for production but really only to listen to music in my 5 1/2 appartement (and not to through parties :P) + the sound quality in a so small "package" is one of my primary matters
+ the sub is kind of tiny (compare to others) and sounds awesome (for my need, no need of too much bass when you listen to rock n roll)

they only thing i read bad about those was that they break fast after letting them play at the maximum volume for too long. This is actually something i find kind of obvious, and won't be my case, since i live on the 3rd floor of a triplex, and can't play music too loud.

I have the M-Audio BX8a which I got for 400$. My friend has the BX5a which I think he bought for 300$... They are like the KRK's but about half the price of them. Maybe not as good, but close and with the savings you can buy something else...
I'm feeling nuclear right now..
