Is it possible to use car speakers like this to make a set of regular speakers which plug into an amp...

I found these cones for 99$ each (regular 399$ each)... I'd like to buy 4 of them and make 2 800 watt boxes... I already found good boxes for 12" speakers...

Hey, i have been using car speakers in a box, and car subwoofers (also in a box) on a home theater amplifier. They have been going for 4 years now, and i never had any problem. But if i put the volume really high, the amplifier peak and stop working until i restart the machine or change input.

But that is a problem with the amplifier not being strong enough... If I had a really good Crown or EV amplifier it should work alright?

Yeah if by work you mean it will make sound then yeah. But the quality of the sound is in question. If you have some electrical know how and you get all the right cables and such then it shouldn't be a problem.

94 db effiency...you will need a lot of power to get it loud. That mean that for 1 W input power, you get 94 db at 1 meter, add 3db each time you double power and decrease by 6db ech time you double the distance from speaker...And they are 4 ohms, that's mean maximum 1 speaker per side of an amplifier, so you will need 2 amplifiers to run 4 speakers..Finaly, not a good choice, except for your home theatre...Dont think to use this as PA speakers.
