hey guys...
was wondering if anybody can help me out.
my imac is having some trouble recognizing some usb stuff that i've been unplugging and plugging back in a lot.
i first noticed it with my ipod shuffle (original version).
and now it's happening with my controller too.
with the ipod...
normally when i plug it in itunes just opens up and it recognizes it no problem.
now it won't recognize but will still supply power.
pretty much the same problem with the controller (novation remote 25sl compact).
i'm running an imac 2ghz intel core 2 duo with osx 10.5.4 installed.
cheers.

pfft, nothing is wrong with your computer, Macs 'just work'. It must be a new feature.

interesting...
i restarted again and now the controller is working fine.
still no ipod action though.
i've had it for a really long time though so i don't really care about it too much.
it's first generation and i bought it about a month after it was released.
so maybe it is the battery?
i'mma try it on my p.c. when i get a chance.
i think i just jumped the gun a little when the controller wasn't acknowledged.

Not enough information... what does "not recognized mean?" does it work in one port but not the other, does it work in other computers?

Apple Icon in Upper Left -> About This Mac -> More Information will open System Profiler

Once in there, go to Hardware -> USB

Plug your usb junk in there and should give some info.

If you have the Developer tools installed (they are free, you probably have them on your install disks somewhwhere) check for /Developper/Applications/Utilities/USB Prober

You can get more (very nerdy) info from there.
I'm feeling belligerent right now..
