LOL ! That's how he would've wanted it anyway.

He should be cremated and have his ashes mixed with gunpowder to make bullets for the troups in Iraq.

About time he croaked, that goddam bastard.
I'm feeling in the past but right now..

Heston was the man, I side with Murdock.
Best scenes ever -
in Planet of the Apes when he gets hosed down: "Get your hands off me you damned dirty ape!" (he gets the hose) "IT'S A MADHOUSE! A MADHOUSE!"
In Ben Hur, when he's talking to Masala and that evil fucker tells him his family is in a leper colony, rotting away: "It goes on." And damn is he gay in that movie.
Then there's the Omega Man, which is the most ridiculous film I ever saw. First time I saw it I had a major fever and it was like bad acid.
Soylent Green is boring up until that end scene which it's so famous for.

But yo, nobody is ever going to have that teeth-gritting, bile-spitting, hard-ass American with severe hemorrhoids style of acting down ever again, the closest we get to that kind of constant shithead face is I dunno, Jean-Paul Belmondo. Well he didn't always have a shitty smile, he used to be super cool in the sixties with films like Breathless, but these days he looks like the French Heston. Sorry Belmondo... compare as we dare:

Belmondo:

Heston:

We mustn't forget that cameo in Wayne's World 2, that was some hot shit.
I'm feeling aborted right now..

Did anyone see Ben-Hur? What a piece of shit that was.

At least Bill Shatner knows how ridiculous he was as an actor, but Heston
didn't. Anyways, poor old shmuck :)

I did like him in a few movies. Tough ass in the Omega Man (could have kicked Will Smith's ass in I Am Legend) and he's classic in Planet Of the Apes... but yeah, I hear he had skewed world view. Micheal Moore brought out some of his ugly side.
I'm feeling renewed right now..

Michael Moore tore into an old man who was handicapped by senility. He showed up on his doorstep posing as a friend and proceeded to blindside him. I don't agree with Heston's views either, but it's sad that a lot of people have that as their only memory of the guy.

As for the NRA... I've got some very sane friends who are card-carrying members, and pointed out that it's something they consider to be a revolutionary act. The USA became an independent republic when citizens rose up against their government, and the right to bear arms was written into the Constitution as a last resort for overthrowing a totalitarian regime.
