For immediate release… 2008 will be the last year for Goodfellaz. It is with mixed emotions that we announce 2008 as the final year for Goodfellaz. So many good things have happened since starting throwing events in Toronto with More Bounce to the Ounce on September 14th 2002. Over the past 5+ years, Goodfellaz Crew (Tyco, Psyklone, Scoots, E.N.D and Pointy Sticks) have been the creative force behind 23 successful raves and earned the reputation as one of North America’s premier hardcore institutions. Brain Basher, Timebomb and Larger Than Life will be remembered as some of the greatest raves Toronto has ever seen. We’ve established life-long friendships, cultivated the careers of many up and coming hardcore talents and built together a unique vibe and atmosphere that will often be imitated but never duplicated. Always promoting the most innovative international hardcore acts, we were the first production company in Canada and/or Toronto to debut the wicked styles of Luna-C, CLSM, Neophyte, Sunrize, No Left Turn, Reese, The Nice Guys, Jimnicricket, Brak, Joshuah, Tika, Leela, Jen Mas, Dynamic, MC HI-IQ and MC/DJ Rukkus. FFW to 2008…with inconsistent attendance at raves and the ever-increasing obstacles that prevent us from throwing consistent events of our caliber (i.e. lack of venues), we’ve decided to pool together all of our resources and go out with a bang, rather than fade into obscurity. So here it is kids, mark your calendars, our last 3 events will be taking place on May 3rd with SMILE, a “special edition” underground happy rave and flyer release party, the Hard Sounds stage at the World Electronic Music Festival in July (date and location TBC) and our sixth anniversary, the last Goodfellaz rave, Saturday, September 13th 2008. With regards to our last event, it is our intention to throw our biggest party ever, and give plenty of advanced notice to make travel arrangements, book hotels, arrange meet ups, etc. Our wish for this event is to have everyone who has ever loved one of our parties and everyone who has never experienced one of our parties to come together for one ridiculous night of raving! It promises to be an extra special night for the Toronto scene, as we gather together and celebrate one last time, all of the good memories we’ve shared, good friends we’ve made and good times that are yet to come. Full flyer, lineup and ticket information will be released at SMILE, our special edition party on May 3rd (SMILE info will hit the streets in February).
