63 minutes of acidity... from atmospheric, echoing acid to hard acid to classic acid... it's all over the place... there's even some sub-heavy dubstep dropped in there...

Meat Beat Manifesto, Phuture, Sean Deason, Plastikman, Public Energy, Cari Lekebusch, Ferenc, Teste, Universal Indicator, Lausen, Arrivers, Cristian Vogel, Doubtful Guest, Joey Beltram, Caution Acid, Astrocat, DJ Slip, Adam X, Frankie Bones, Squarepusher, Pinch, Aphex Twin, Bruce McCullogh, Wild Planet and Atomly.

I'm not recognizing most of those names.

Is this more acid house or acid techno?

I'm all about the raging acid techno.

It's all over the place... but there isn't really much/any of the driving Stay Up Forever/Hydraulix kind of stuff... it's a journey... early/classic acid house cuts from Phuture, Joey Beltram and Aphex Twin... classic hard acid from Public Energy (aka Speedy J), Voodoo Child (aka Moby), Universal Indicator (Mike Dredd on Rephlex), Caution Acid (on the Acidiferous label!)... mid-school tripped out stuff from Plastikman, Astrocat, Lausen, Teste... and new school sounds from Atomly, Ferenc and Doubtful Guest.

full tracklisting:
Meat Beat Manifesto - Acid Again
Phuture - Acid Tracks
Sean Deason - The Shit
Plastikman - Old Skool
Public Energy - Three O Three
Cari Lekebusch - Jump 3

My copy of Universal Indicator Green is missing the 12"... which sucks... but it meant that I got it for really cheap. I've also got a couple of the Machine Code records that Mike Dredd put out... he did his own disc on Rephlex a couple of years back... it's a mix called Innovations In The Dynamics Of Acid (or something like that) - under the Universal Indicator name.

He also did the Kosmik Kommando material... I've got one of those on an old Analog records 12" compilation (Patchcords Through The Atlantic)...

there are two Plastikman tracks in the mix... Old Skool (from the 3x12" version of Musik) and Marbles are the only Hawtin tracks I used. There is one track that I accidentally left out of the tracklisting above, though... Hal 9000 & Sylvie Marks - My Computer Eats An Acid Trip...

Red Hot Car mixed with the Loefah remix of Pinch's Punisher is shot hot... I've been working different variations of the mix for almost a year... never get tired of it.

Helikopter is an awesome track though... my copy of it has seen twelve+ years of abuse and is just about useless now... someday I'll find another one, though... It's too bad, it's one of the few Hawtin records from that period that I don't have multiple copies of (I've got sealed copies of Krakpot/Electrostatik and Recycled Plastik waiting for the day my old ones are completely worn out)...

I'm not as crazy about Slip's recordings for Missile as I am about his other stuff (particularly the stuff on Subvoice and Drop Bass Network)... The Slip track in this mix is on Parotic.

Hemi-sync by Public Energy is pretty intense, I used to play that a lot, but Three O Three fits the acid mold a bit better... I'll probably do a sequel to this one at some point and fit in some of the old FUSE and Circuit Breaker tracks... along with other stuff from the crates. I mean... how could I now include anything by Mark Verbos or Yanu??

nice... the responses I've received on this have been really positive... it's always nice to get messages from producers telling you they really like what you've done with their tracks... so it was cool to hear good things from some of the Planet-Mu crew... the next mix I put up is going to be a lot different... it's likely to be a two DJ, four turntable set - with my room mate doing cuts and scratches... should be crazy!
