| I think an 8gig "touch" ipod at 329$ US is a hell of a ripoff when you can get a 16gig Creative Zen for 299 who's only diffrence is that you have keys for a menu (which means you don't get fingerprints all over your screen or smudge it) |

| i like the touch, I WANT to be able to surf the web in my living room or outside a cafe without bringing the net with me, to check sports scores, quickly check email, shipping status, watch some youtube, surf [ rave.ca ] on my front porch! And all for a damned decent price... still too expensive though considering some impulse buys i made last week. :S
i AM surprised they are only 8gb and 16gb though, that's not enough for movies, photos AND MUSIC... I'll wait to iPod Touch 2G |

| you're telling ME, I still have the iPod i bought 4 years ago, cost me nearly 800$ after tax and the warranty (which got annuled 2 months later when B.Mac went out of business) and it's only a 20gb, no video or photo or color for that matter, but hey! I replaced the battery myself and now it works like when it was new!
so whoever said they were cheaply made, ok, they were, but comparatively they are great quality. |

| the touch is solid state storage so if you drop it there is less of a chance of it breaking... Had that happen to my mini (microdrive)
Personally I think the new nanos are cool since you get a decent screen and can play video.. But I'm still going strong without an mp3 player :D |

| i agree about your size concern, my guess is they want to wow people more progressively, like if they would have put 16-32, it would be more expensive and harder to 'make better' in the future with a simple upgrade.
