I am proud to announce that from now on March is RAVER history month.

for many long hard years now the governments have made ravers feel that we are doing something wrong.

Some of us have been looked down on for our phat pants, our PLUR, our beads and wide eyes.
Through these tough years people have stared at our ultra hot raver girls and make fun of the way we battle.

The time has come to put your sunglasses on and hold your glowstixx high in the air and embrace our unique history.

No longer will we be pushed out of our abandoned buildings and we will take pride in any place party is. if the music is our prayer, then the space is our church. I am a DJ, so by the gift given to me by GOD herself I can declare this day ours. and I do. and it is.

From this day forth we will take pride in our colour. especially the yellow pink and blue.

No longer shall we hide our pride.

please add your thoughts and ideas regarding this important issue.

hehe now thats a tune we can all dance to.. :)

howeva Id be curious to know what the old -Detroit, houston- scene was like...
how did people approach it, what was their conception of it, cause it Was light years different from the way its evolved.
Not just in technological innovationz but this was a wholly new dimension; social just to name one.. beads and big pants and appealing WoMeN -while fun, ye- are just background noise -(tho i reads au contraire in sysmyk review...?hmm.. :P) and things that couldve gone either way. maybe by comprehending the inception better we can get a better understanding of the overlap, (and yea our own brand of raving too)
. Cause shit, it Can be important, to diff people in diff degrees. now if youll xcuse me my friend just got in a dui. pfft ahhw.
I'm feeling no limits, only laws right now..

I can't belive it, I thought this thread would bring on a million raver march to the doors of our nations capital, or at least be a good reason to get wasted during the month of March,
Murdoc I don't know how to tell you this but the rave is not over.
I don't think anyone realy wants to ever quit doing the good drugs, they just get old and burn out. or go broke. or die from it first.
I never wore fun fur, never gave nor got a vapo rub from some next man.
and if someone did get a rub at a party I hope it made them smile.

this is about the love of our lifestyle, not anything less, rave is a way of life for me, and many like me.
Some of us love the music we play, or move too, the friends we have made and the lust for life that most of us share.
I have been in the middle of this seen for as long as I can remember. it is a part of me as much as the colour of my skin.

I guess having a whole month dedicated to forcing all people to remember something that some people care nothing about is a stupid idea...

but I will say this...

I HAVE A DREAM..

Well, props to all the people that didn't respond like bitter assholes.
Even more props to the people that didn't respond at all.

It is a bit random to post something about a rave history month at the end of february, 2007. Its a bit late and a bit cold and everyone is just a bit too much of an asshat. Still, its nice to see there are some kids that want to be a constructive force within the scene, which makes the rest of you cunt rags for shitting on him. I understand if you don't give a flying fuck about it being "rave history" month or whatever, because the scene did peak quite a few years back.... But why take the time to actively bash it?

I still wish the best for everyone else in the scene, I want people to enjoy it as much as I did. Whether you like to admit or not, newbies keep the scene going, fresh blood. If we all become jaded and bitter and said "fuck everything to do with the scene", who would keep coming to your parties?

You don't have to support everything within the scene, but at least have the courtesy to not disrespect it blatantly. It's pretty fucking retarded, not to mention against your self-interest to insult the scene that you have bothered to keep yourself part of. Most of you, I'm sure by now could have pulled yourself out of this hole and dissociated yourself from it entirely, so why haven't you?

Exactly.......even if you are only in it for the spinning, every dj needs a crowd...In the end, you're only making yourselves look like immature jaded little bitches that are really upset about the fact they can no longer run around and rub vapo-rub on other peoples' backs.

Cheers, kids.
I'm feeling up super mario right now..

wow... for amount of time i've been around here you would think ppl would understand me a little better by now?

i've been calling out this plur shit since day one, and sorry to break the news kids but you can't have your ying without the yang...

and if there wasn't ASSHOLES LIKE ME around who feel the need to re-evaluate and tear it down in order to build it back up the "scene" would be alot sadder than it already is...

dwelling on the past is fuckin' lame guys...

why dwell on the past when you can think about the future??

you guys are gunna end up the raver equivelent to those burnout hippy parents who embarass there kids at parent teacher interviews because they haven't cut thier hair or changed there clothes since NAM.

FUCK THE GOOD OL DAYS!!!

as important as looking at the past is to help mold our future...

its not healthy to get caught in the time warp either.

why should i pigeon hole myself like that?

sure those times were great and it's still nice to reminice now and then...

but you can't kick it "old school" everyfuckin' weekend.

and by trying to your just cheapening the whole experience.

and why is it "against my self interest" to speak my mind?

because i'm a dj?

because some whack promoter might not book me at a candy rave because of my attitude?

well... boo fuckin' hoo!!!

cry me a fuckin' river!!!

as far as being a "constructive force" thats not what i'm goin' for either...

i'm more like the chaos bringer ;oP

SEARCH AND DESTROY BABY!!!

on that note... a wise woman once said...

You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

There's a time you got to go and show
You're growin' now you know about
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

When the world never seems
to be livin up to your dreams
And suddenly you're finding out
the Facts of Life are all about you, youOOOOO!!!
I'm feeling warm unicorn jizz right now..

Dont take everything you read on rave so serious,..
Febuary is black history month.
I'm a white dude and felt a little left out.
Ravers have been chased down by cops for years, in some states of the US Phat pants were classified as drug paraphanalia and party lovers have been chased down for how they dress.
and you all know the rest of the history.
plus I was stoned when I wrote it so chill out, perhaps we need a not so serious discussion thread...

whatever.. time to hit the bong.
