maybe some of you can answer me here:

I just acquired a mobile pre m-audio usb soundcard for a decent price.
so I no longer have to use the mic input on my integrated sound card :P
anyways
i would have thought the two inputs would be differentiated as two mono tracks into a general stereo out...
but it looks like it's just the right and left channels
I have a mic plugged in one channel and a keyboard on channel two
and they are each coming out their respective left/right channel

is there no way to hear both inputs as a stereo image
I can select mono monitoring but that just leaves me the left channel

looks like
if i want to record simultaneously channel 1 and 2 with a mic and a line input respectively
i will have to live with each coming out of a stereo channel?
is there no way to have each mono input going into a stereo output instead of a L/R setup?

any input appreciated
I'm feeling it going clear right now..

just convert them to two mono tracks in your software

also most software it will show up as input 1 and input 2

In software such as ableton live or cubase you can make them appear as two mono inputs and use software monitor instead of hardware monitor to hear them... (I used to have a mobile pre).

Unfortunately it IS a very basic soundcard, especially the drivers (no real routing options for the inputs or outputs).

yeah Scotty is 100% on this, it all depends on your software.

Mind you it is pretty nice to record in stereo., I'd get a patchbay or mixer if your planning on doing alot of recording.
I'm feeling his nether regions right now..

well the card only has 2 active inputs at once.. So you can record one stereo channel or two mono
