Thus enhancing the dormant threat to people at risk.
Got mixed feelings about the validity of a std personnals. Another situation where we have to weight individual welfare over societary welfare.... quite a tough one.... |

Not only is that not going to happen, but if infected people are having sex between them instead of taking risks with uninfected people, doesn't it reduce the risks of it spreading ? Unless they're having children, of course... If it can save them the pain of falling in love with someone who might reject them not only for who they are but for what they have... Perspective: each and every one of you have about a 50/50 chance of being infected with genital HPV (which has no cure; it usually goes away, but sometimes not), whether you know it or not, whether you have any symptoms or not. I would agree with Mark about individual vs. society welfare, but before forbidding STD personnals, I'd start by giving them all a complimentary vasectomy/salpingectomy with their diagnosis... as well as quit fighting to keep malformed babies alive, etc etc. |
