| I want an external one that sort of backs up everything on my hard-drive for me sort of deal.
I had a hard-drive crash 2-3 months ago and lost all my msuical work. That was seariosuly like 4-5 months of work... gone. It should be every electronic musicians first purchase. |

| nope, actually. It was a crash that happened a few months ago, when a whole bunch of hard drives world-wide crashed. Something about a bad batch of chips that had been shipped out that all failed after about the same period of use. A few thousand drives died. I should make some backups of stuff, but I've barely got enough stuff since to even fit on a CD. |

| @ basic...
i couldn't help but to notice that you mentioned buying a djm 500...
why do so many ppl acctually like this thing?
i've had to use it at a few gigs and i can't really say anything nice about it?
it feels like a cheap plastic toy, all the knobs fall off constantly and the effects sound cheap as hell and are really hard to assign in the dark not to mention i don't like the fact that the tap button doubles as the fx on off button...
i know alot of kids who really like this mixer... but i'm having alt of troule seeing what all the fuss is about?
any feedback? |

| I liked the DJM mixers layout, personally, and of course the effects are only usable if you used it for a few days or so. I found after a few gigs with this mixer, I could line up effects to the bar structure of the track no problem, reeeeeeaaallly nice for those flanger sweeps, delay effects, and filters, all lined up with the crossfader too. I liked the faders, smooth, durable, never seen a djm without knobs or broken faders, and pioneer makes some high quality equipment. Those XLR's sure are handy too. I did see a djm with a busted output though.
All in all, I'd rather be running a XONE for sure, but the pioneer is a reliable mixer. |
