I can say with no shame that right now I am classified as a handicap person due to point that I can not walk with out help. I was using the metro system to get around downtown yesterday. Now if you are an able bodied person or has wheel you are fine, but if not you are fucked!!!! Most of, if not all metro entrances are not handicap friendly @ all. Yes I understand that the metro system was designed in 1964 and @ that point in our history handicap people where not given any thought. One would think that would have been changed over the years, but from what I experienced it has not even crossed the MUCT mind’s.

Just something that I needed to point out

Uhm, if you've got a handicap then you can call the STM and they'll send a bus TO you and pick you up and drive you to your destination by the way..

I think you need to schedule it with them tho.. *shrug*

What happened to you Purple Lee?

the Montreal's metro is simply not made for people on wheel chair or with motion handicap, as most metros around the world.

Not to hijack the thread, I completely agree with you Lee it's a fucking travesty how in many metros there's not 2 working escalators and people are expected to walk the 2-4 levels of stairs up or down depending on which one is broken. I always assumed there was an elevator or something for special use, but now i know thereisn't and that sucks!

But on another note, have any of you seen the bullshit new system of booths they're setting up everywhere? At Bonnaventure it's absolutely terrible, same with at Sherbrooke. I have no idea what the hell they're thinking they're doing ... did they even look at the design from a practicality standpoint?

I don't see anything wrong with the new booths... I kinda like the new ones. It's about time the metro gets out of the 80s era.

The Booths are fine...since there is still that gate you can use if you have a bike or stroller & such.

Then neither of you have seen the one at bonaventure.. Its so confusing and doesnt make sence.. I was running for the metro and by the time I found the way to the turnstile I tried squeezing through, not thinking I realized what I was doing.. and passed my card through, which was in my hand.

The one at place darmes is pretty rediculous as well..

Theres a lot of other things they could of spent money fixing besides the booths.

like the metros themselves lol
Apparemment sur la ligne verte c'est les mêmes wagons depuis les années 60, c'est tu vrai?

Pke si oui, y serait temps qu'ils les modernisent...

Bonnaventure is a nightmare right now, total mess. Trying to figure out where the hell to go is near impossible.

Bonnaventure has always been a mess where it being the metro or just trying to deliver thingz inside....it has gotten better, but it used to be like a maze in there for years

I've never had problems getting around Bonaventure and I go through there quite often when heading to work....guess I have a good sense of orientation....or not, I'm just used to it...I remember back in da days when I would always ask how to get wherever :b
