I blame Alberta. They won every single seat in Alberta. I am ashamed of my country.. even in Quebec support for conservatives went up. Jesus.. as if he's ever gonna be able to stop 15 year olds from getting shot.

yeah I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I saw a single poor person/poor person residence or rich person/rich person residence in calgary, everything seemed perfectly middle class. In a perfectly middle class society I guess conservatism wouldn't seem like such a bad idea.

Not only that, but consider that the house of commons is mostly leftist, even with a minority gov that's mostly right.. really doesn't mean much, Canada's not going to change much (except that there's gonna be a shitload less corruption now) now that the liberals aren't in power.

Ok, it's good to have changed government. I think we all had enough of Liberals...
But still, Conservatives I don't like. They're too....
conservative. The word says it. ;)

I wish someday we'll have a left-wing or centre government. That would maybe be nice. La droite m'énerve des fois.

Technically the Liberals are left, though usually shoot more for center to try and keep power, although... this arrangement makes a Liberal/NDP alliance pretty much a sure thing, which is good news for the NDP.

NEW GLASGOW, N.S. (CP) - A man accused of stealing a ballot box from a polling station and running it over with his truck was convicted six years ago of tossing a ballot box in a harbour.

Alexander MacKenzie, 56, was charged Tuesday with theft and mischief causing damage to property. He is to appear in court next month. Police were called to a New Glasgow polling station Monday after someone grabbed a ballot box and fled.
A suspect was arrested minutes later and the ballots were recovered.

MacKenzie, a former Pictou County councillor, was convicted during the 2000 federal election of throwing a ballot box in Boat Harbour.

He received a month of house arrest, was placed on a year's probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
