Generally... the way that I find out that I'm lucid dreaming is I catch something that doesn't make sense... like in The Matrix where the cat runs by twice... and I'm like "Wait.. this isn't real..." and then I see if I can change little details.. and if I can... I know I'm in charge and then the fun begins.. woot woot.

That's actually not true... you can't PROCESS letters... but if your brain remembers words as images, or a collection of symbols.. you can still read things. It depends on how you read, if you read by processing wholes (which they teach you in speed reading) you can still read in dreams.. or at least.. you think you're reading, really you're just recognizing symbols and interpreting them as words... its hard to explain.

i read parts of a book on Lucid Dreaming. Controlling your dreams can be fun, it's like having a conversation between you and your subsconscious.
I don't try to lucid dream tho, cuz my dreams are black and white, like a reception from a 1950's tv. I know the stories but i don't get vivid images. :(

I know what you mean, I suppose i jsut expressed myself wrong, Or not well enought for you to of understood what i mean. I see letters and numbers.. and a letter is a symbol is it not? the best way i can describe it is to look at a bowl of alphabits, where the letter have no up or down or right-side up.. They are just there on the page.. all over.

Yeah... but like I said.. if you read by recognizing words as wholes, you can read in dreams... because you're not actually reading, you're associating. The most basic example that most people can do is a stop sign. In the dream, there isn't a jumble on the sign, because when you think of a stop sign, the image you draw from includes the letters in order. If you learn to always read like that, identifying whole words instantly instead of actually reading them, you can read in dreams.

I dreamt I was in a plane and we were all about to crash and die, i told myself, no this wont happen this way, this is not how i die. The plane dove into the water and all of a sudden i was in a submarine, colorfull and pwetty...then the dream changed.
Another lucid moment;

Talking to someone in my dream, and all of a sudden i get the bright idea to ask him how it is to be a character in my dream (like i had seen in the movie "waking life") and he looked at me all confused and the dream shifted totally. As if to chng my thoughts, like i wasn't aloud to ask that question or something.

I loved it.

That's crazy, Nads. Hahaha. But it's fun to screw up dreams like that.

It's funny because when I dream, everything is set up like a movie. Camera angles, editing, everything. I always see myself in 3rd person. I never dream anything fun though, like flying and going underwater and such. It's always set in a normal setting like a house, a city, a building or even a party. The situations though are totally wacky and off the wall like, I dunno, I remember dreaming of a party where people were dancing everywhere. I do mean EVERYWHERE like the dancefloor, the ceiling and the walls. Heh.

I don't have lucid dreams though. Well not sober at least. What I do get is " déjà vus " or the feeling you have lived that moment before and recognize actions or events even though you've never been at that place with these people before. The fun comes when you are able to quickly recognize that déjà vu and find a way to screw it all up by doing something out of the ordinary. In a public setting, I'll start coughing like mad or something. Or instead I'll stand up abruptly if I'm sitting down, that sort of thing.

Unless what I just explained is actually called lucid dreaming, I don't know...

I havent been able too, it's always jumbles, I will see the stop sign yes, But as for the words go, My subconsious isent awake enough to reproduce the, You have to realize that in a dream, Most people have no idea as to what is going on, and being able to control a dream to the point where you could physically alter reality, Because in reality there are no words and there is nothing there, so you may imagine the stop sign is red and in a hexagon shape, but as for the words on the stop sign, I'd imagine you'd have to exude so much energy jsut to see them and make them "BE" there that shit around you would be affected.. like possibly colors.. rather than being the full spetra it only be on a grey scale. anyways.. this is all very hypothetical and very grey areaish, as in, Not much is known about the concious subconsious reality of dreams.

lucid dreams take practice. the trick that has been given to me on how to wake is during the day when you know you're awake look at your hand, and be conscious that you are awake, say the words out loud 'i am awake' 'i may be dreaming, but i am awake, i am in control of my actions' and realize it deeply. this will have an positive affect on your wake life (being more conscious), and in the long time when you catch this as almost a habit, you'll start doing it in your dreams too, and you'll awake.

A quote from "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", Stephen Laberge, Ph.D. & Howard Rheingold.

"Problably the only people who should not experiment with lucid dreaming are those who are unable to distinguish between waking reality and constructions of their imaginations."

i haven't read the book in years, so i can't tell you any advice, except for this. I vaguely remember the writer warning us that if you're too good with lucid dreaming, that you may forsaken the waken world. And you prefer to go to sleep whenever you wish, because in your dreams you don't face the problems you have in real life. Your dream world takes over your real world.

i have to reread the chapter, i might have skewed the facts.

I often have lucid dreams :D
Weird dreams they are. Fun too :D

Like, once I "dreamt" I was dancing low-gravity :D On hardtrance. I was flipping through the air, doing all kinds of acrobatics, but it was a dance. Was very fun :D

Tk, I have lots of memories of dreams I made. Can't post them all here.
