| Coolness: 685655 | Always the same sound? The new (third) album has some Iron Maiden-style solos on it, and there's even an acoustic ballad. Totally nu-metal, obviously. Nothing screams "nu-metal" quite like solos and acoustic guitars.

| Coolness: 685655 | :lol are you serious? Anything short of grime is so over-produced it's insane. On the DnB front, look at all you need to do to get a sick reece sound. Compression, changing the pitch of drums, chopping up breaks, adding any sort of effect, is processing. You compress your drums, you limit your master, you add some reverb to the high-end, all electronicaly. You filter the synths to get your leads, your bass, you EQ-out the naturaly occuring frequencies to make diffrent parts take up more/less room in a mix.
And then you can say that 9 guys (3 drummers, 2 guitars, 1 bass, 1 vocalist, 1 guy on samplers and 1 DJ scratching) doing all of their material LIVE, is over-produced? There's usually way more going on in anything electronic than in anything else. Black Sabbath's first album took about 8 hours to record. Noisia (in their recent Q&A on DOA) said it takes them 3-5 months usually to finnish ONE track. |
