merci

# Seamless looping and sampling
# Large jog wheel makes cueing tracks more natural
# Adjustable pitch (+/- 8%, 16%, 25%, 100%) with Key Lock and Pitch Bend
# Onboard sampling with four trigger buttons and cue memory
# Reliable, anti-shock playback with auto cue and instant playback
# Easy-to-read amber LCD keeps essential info at a glance
# S/PDIF digital output

never used it...it says seemless looping, but a lot of the lower price units arent always so seamless...wrong guy to ask this one.

Please don't consider going from turntables to CDs "upgrading".

About cdjs, if you're to mix psytrance, you probably don't need to scratch and to do turntablism, so a pair of cdj-100s would be cheap and good, as a pair of cdj-200 would be a bit more expensive and very good. they're both pretty basic but they are very conveniant and they shouldn't fuck up if you're not an idiot. (they're rave standards just like tech 12s, and they're solid as hell)

And Lone Star, you would be blind if you had not noticed the digital revolution that is going on yet. The vinyl industry is going down, the mp3 stores are becoming more popular, and the style that you mix (freeform) is having serious problems with record sales, like most styles. Don't wonder why the Nu Energy collective has stopped printing and distributing vinyls for most of it's independant labels (digital beatz, camel, etc). The current most popular vinyl industry is the drum and bass one, but eventually the vinyl will disappear, that's for sure...

I think the thread here is about CDJs and that nter is talking about the mk2 turntables, since Thierry doesn't have mk2 cdjs! Technics MK2 cdjs are just too expensive, only buy those if none of the Pioneers are able to fulfill your needs..

i was talking about the cdj1000mk2...they are pricey, but you cant beat the features...i cant find the damn ebay link anymore but i am still checking.for 900$ us i think they are a steal....sure might be alot for a starter but gadgets are more addictive than drugs. And matduke you are right about the digital revolution, at WMC 2005 i would say almost half of the headliners spun exclusively with cdj's.I am talking about some serious heavyweights like Christopher Lawrence,Armin Van B,James Zabiela...ect.
I'm not sure top artists like this consider it a downgrade...

Great point, I haven't really looked at it in that way. It is true that the tunes on nunrg are around 0.99-1.25 GBP. Really cheap and no shipping. Hmmm.

Edit: I guess I prefer records because they have more sentimental value to me than just a freaken icon on a computer screen.

The tech CDJs look so fucking good, it's too bad that they sound so digital when you backspin and try to scratch. The Pioneers are fucking amazing, you can easily scratch and beat juggle with CDs. Fuckin' mindblowing. Plus with the cueing system, you can save cue points, so you could burn your own scratch CDs and pretty much call up any sample as long as you remember the track number and cue number.

Most psy trance is released on cds, like he said. And there are some other advantages to using technology which isn't 100 years old..
