i have bitched about Future Shop in the past, how their customer service sucks donkey balls, how their products mostly are crap but now... now this just does it.

they have lost my camera and all the info about my repairs.

After waiting 20 minutes, count them 20!, on the phone, being put on hold constantly, the girl on the phone told me, "well, we have someone who deals with special cases like yours..." (i had just called to check when the camera would be ready). Wait, i say, are you saying you lost my camera? "No, no we just... Yes. So she'll call you tomorrow."

Great.

The lost my camera. Great company, they have there!

I can only hope this means they'll actually give me a new one which incidently might put a stop to all the repairs i had to get done on that piece of crap.

Really!

People, if you can avoid it, SHOP ELSEWHERE. Boycott fucking FUTURE SHIT!

what i hate the most is that there are not enough salesman, and when you do get one (after 20-25 minutes) they are crazy arabs that try to sell u all those useless things. A USB CORD FOR YOUR PRINTER FOR 35$???? They sell em at Addison for 2$

All i like about futureshop is their return policy. I love just buying stuff to have fun with it for a while and then get 100% refunded (minus the part where the crazy arabs are yelling at you for making them lose their commission)

oh don't worry, i will. I'm very good at throwing tantrums if i want to :) I'm waiting to hear from the lady tomorrow (with my luck, she's gonna be the one waking me up at 9am tomorrow) and take it from there. They BETTER find my camera or give me a new one (i'd prefer a new one because the piece of crap they sold me was so shitty i had to bring it in 3 times in 6 months to get it fixed!).

All this to say... FUTURE SHOP SUCKS! Their products and mostly their customer service. They don't know how to talk to clints, they speak really bad French/English, and they put you on hold forever!

I'm seriously never gonna shop there again. But what are the options, really? Are there good local stores that sell quality electronics?

if you want a good camera go to L L Lozeau on st hubert street. don't go to photoimage on st catherine near peel, the people there are pretentious assholes and they'll totally rip you off.

Best buy is gonna be coming to montreal real soon.

I never buy anything from futureshop unless it's something like a monitor or an amp, and i'd never buy one of their BS extended warrantees.. it's just a way for them to pull more money out of your wallet. Once the a dude there tried to sell me a $20 warrantee on a powerbar.... A FUCKING POWERBAR. he tried for 5 minutes to sell it to me.. i was like "no... No.. NO.... NO.." he wouldn't shut up.

i walked in there once to buy a $1000 camera, just in and out whatever the guy didn't have to sell me at all i already knew what i wanted, he proceeded to try to sell me a $300 warranty and started giving me total shit when i refused. pretty much acting like i was a moron when even though i already had a year manufactuer's warranty.

asswipes. like seriously take what you can get, don't be rude to me when i'm giving you commission w/o you having to do any work.

The only time I go to Future Shop is when I know what I want and when I've done my homework. I just go in and buy the product.

There's no point in looking for help because even if DO manage to get a salesman to come see you, good luck communicating with him and good luck finding someone who actually knows his product.

all they do all day is stare at their sales stats.. futureshop ranks all their salesmen across canada on their employee website..

it's a big competition to them, who can peddle the most shit.

i fucking hate salesmen.

I never need a salesman myself. But lets say you ant to buy anything worth more than 50$ you need one to get the product out of the display. Thats when all hell breaks loose. I hate that place but I know I will be back there often because most of the time they have crazy unbeatable prices on some sale items

They actually have good prices, and their sales teams are actually competant and know what the fuck they're talking about.

I went to FuruteShop once to get a router, and the sales woman tried pitching me a $50-router over the $35-router.
I asked "why?"
And she responded by GRABBING the box out of my hand, reading the specs for five-minutes, then responded by saying: "I dunno, want a warrenty?"

All they care about is commision, and they don't even know how to sell their products.
