hey, im gonna try to make this as fast as possible cause theirs people waitting for me outside.

lastnight, I was playing around with a program called Advanced System Optimizer. I restarted my pc and I noticed my fonts (in general) where changed. MSN or IE won't connect to the net either... but firefox it's ok - weird.

I don't think this was caused by the program but meh... what do you guys think? I checked for spyware and nothing came up.

ok so I found out the problem was caused by directx 9.0c (or something like that), after rebooting and playing around with some random pop-up blocker program, everything came back to normal.

yay.

I think anything that sounds like " Advanced System Optimizer " is a scam. Want your computer to run faster ? Buy RAM.

No software in the world will speed it up enough for you to see any type of difference unless you defrag and clean the registry.

In fact, I'm curious to know if your computer is REALLY significantly faster now that you've installed that thing.

A lot of those are pretty legit. Theres so much stuff that can be done to get more performance out of a machine it's not even funny. Little tweaks that no one thinks will do anything significant.

Take the indexing service in windows... Turn it off, and you get a MASSIVE performance boost (at the drawback that windows will have to work more if you ever search for a file)

Things no one thinks of, like dissabling the LPT port in your BIOS will also speed up your computer. Maybe nothing significant on it's own, but if you stack up small tweaks, you end up with a much faster (and much more stable) system than you had before.
