D-Monic [ www.dmonic.com ] purephunk Through his Purephunk and Focus events D-Monic exposed Toronto to such internationally acclaimed talent such as Krafty Kuts, Freddy Fresh, Soul of Man, Baby Anne, Kelly Reverb, Freestylers, Atomic Hooligan, Hyper, DJ Love, Uberzone, DJ Czech, and Deejay Punk Roc as well as helping a number of up and coming DJ's get noticed. In the fall of 2003, D-Monic launched Pure Phunk Recordings, a label that has been on the drawing board for years. The label will focus on the emerging breaks production talent that Canada has to offer, all while occasionally allowing some of the biggest names in the industry to offer their contributions via some well placed remixes (Krafty Kuts, Dj Love, Dj Whatt and Madame Mercury, Skool of Thought). He has played along side such musical luminaries as Afrika Bambaataa, Aquasky, The Herbalizer, Krafty Kuts, Dj Czech, Bonobo, Buck 65, Dj Krush, Dj Scissorkicks, Thievery Corporation, Bebel Gilberto and The Streets. This list is a testament to his skill and versatility as a DJ.
