Department Of Homeland Security Seeks Authority To Delay Election Day

Wow, first he gets the presidency when he lost the elections, then he starts a war and can't back up his reasons for doing so (Hey, Dubya, I'm still waiting for those WMD to show up!), and now he wants to prolong his term because he KNOWS he'll get voted out of office and he wants to have some more fun.

What makes me laugh every single time is the fact that they link Madrid bombings with the conservative gouvernement being kicked out of power. Did it ever occur to them to think that ummm the gouvernement that was in place was really corrupted, imposed absolutely ridiculous laws, tried to cover up many allegations and was just bad for the population?

It sickens me how media manipulates the information before spitting it out.

I thought it was Spain's home team of terror, the Basques, who did the Madrid bombing. The Philipines demonstrated their iron will in the face of terror and are pulling their 50 people in Iraq out cuz of the hostage (I hesitate to call them Philipine Military cuz they basically sent a single Hilton's cleaning staff to Iraq). That's pretty embarassing. Not only are they going to be regarded as siding with the Americans on the wrong side of a stupid war, but they did it half-assed, and they caved in to terror tactics, which is a lot like farting at the dinner table among 1st world nations.

I was just down in New England for the 4th of July, and that place is pretty republican, and fanatically patriotic. Even they are starting to abandon the Republicans. They say they swore allegiance with the USA long before they elected Bush, and they are PISSED that the US flag, name, and reputation has been dragged through the mud so badly. Here's the impression I'm getting: If Bush tries any more monkey business, he could devide the country such that he is either impeached, assasinated, or draws his country into a brand-spanking new civil war. The Religious Right still think Bush is a messiah. Educated people think he's dangerous.

He better just fuck off and die.

From the article:
"Soaries reportedly replied with concern that no federal agency could postpone an election, and asked Ridge to approach Congress to give his commission the power to delay Election Day. Ridge's department recently asked the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel about the necessary legal steps to allow the postponement of the election in the event of an attack."
I think Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Cheney would attack the US themselves to allow a delay. Kill a few hundred random civilians (ideally democrats), make a few hundred million for you and your bad sperm. Why not?
