| Coolness: 49655 | there is the [ phoniq.net ] website but for now the phoniqlist info is not up there here is the basicas as to why this list came into being:
recently in a thread on the idm list it came to the attention of a few montrealers that there are a lot of us on these electronic music mailing lists but none of them are canadian specific, and none of them work at helping to build and maintain the forever growing electronic music community in canada. Canadian cities such as Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and others have all in recent years made important contributions to the electronic music "scene" internationally. From artists, to festivals to labels and even one off events, some of these landmark contributions have helped to grow Canada as a "hotbed" for this kind of music, but the one thing missing is a fourm an open line of communication between the 4 corners of this vast country to help grow the scene and develope communities both on an national and local level. That is where this list comes in to play, when the phoniq collective first came about one of our mandates of what we wanted to do was to help create community, and this list has come to be one of many ways in which we hope to meet that mandate. |
