the first computer i had was an old 286. i used it for word processing. i was so happy when someone gave me a VGA card so i could play Wolfenstein and VGA Pool. the computer was a hand-me-down (at that time, 486s were all the rage).

i had one of these as well:

my dad does renovation and someone gave it to him for free (this was in like 97, 15 years after it came out). i used it for fun to write beeping songs in basic.

"All the ROM programs were written by Microsoft, and even a few of them were written by Bill Gates (!) himself ! These programs include a text editor, a telecommunication program, which uses the built-in modem (300 baud), and a rather good version of BASIC (no big surprise there)."

crazy.
