story might suck, (you can never tell from a trailer), but the costumes/CG looks pretty sweet. |

well I finnised watching Dawn a short while ago. (yay for people with cams. I'd have prefered a screener mind you...)
Pretty good. In terms of comparing it to the original, I sadly have to say that I prefer the remake, despite it's flaws. (and there are many) **spoilers** Lots of characters introduced in short periods of time = no character development and no sense of attatchment to the characters, as opposed to the original, that spent TOO much time on character development and was very slow moving. The "infection" spreading by bite alone? How did it spread so damn fast that it "destroyed the world" in under 72 hours? Scratches don't seem to pass on the infection... But, wait, what about that pregnant bitch? She just got scratched! If it spread only by bite, it would have been able to be contained before spreading out and devestating like it did because there would have had to be one original carrier. And the infection time takes like less than a minute for most people, how did that fat bitch hold out for so long or the pregnant woman (she lasted DAYS as opposed to the rest in under a minute). In a nut-shell, plot holes that you can drive a semi through. **end spoilers** fast paced, obvious plot holes, entertaining as hell, good ride! Stick around for the credits. ;) |

im a pussy. but ive never seen so many blood splatters in the first fifteen minutes of a movie ever. |

It's called a plot hole. Originaly, ALL dead come back. The recently buried, people shot anywhere but the brain, whatever, as long as the brain was intact, you didn't need to be bitten, the bite just "converted" humans, and it took days. The un-official explenation of the phenomena was touched on in the original Night of the Living Dead, in that a satelite exploded near orbit and it caused a weird, un-known radiation to come down onto earth that brought the recently deceased back from the dead.
And getting to the island wasn't the biggest problem, how the fuck did like ALL THE US get infected in under 12 hours if they can only spread by bite. There has to be at least ONE 'original' zombie, and at that, what, is he on a rocket-powered car driving cross country over night and bitting everyone he sees? |

I dunno, I keep trying to "get" into the original Dawn of the Dead, but I never manage it. I much prefered Day of the Dead. More bleak and a lot darker. It's been at least a year now, and the people are all on the breaking point. It's more psychological than Dawn, there's more tension, things don't look good for the survivors. I find Dawn to be more campy and humorous than Night or Day, and not in a good RotLD/DeadAlive/Undead kinda way. Day of the dead was actually on Scream last night followed by Night of the living dead... I totally forgot the black dude from Candyman & Final destination was in Night of the living dead as well. gofigure... |

No, she had a scratch on her stomach. I've got it sitting on my computer. And if she was bitten, it should have taken her under an hour to get infected like the rest of the people who were alive and healthy and got bitten. She lasted a couple of days. |

no.. she was bitten near the wrist and we dont know how long she lasted since she disappeared after the scene with her and her hsband in the bathroom...
and it did not take only hours for everyone else.. they had to die first... the man with the daughter took over a day |

The man with the daughter happened almost right after they came in. Sure, time-lapse and all, but ad MOST I'd say it lasted 3-4 hours tops. A bite on his arm killed him? What a wussy. I'll bet he would have died if you poked his forehead too hard with a constitution like that.
And yeah, I just took another check, the angle of the shot on this shitty cam copy I downloaded makes the angle look like it's her stomach that he's looking at in the bathroom. But still, everyone else happened within hours of being bitten. If they died, it took seconds. The infection moves FAST and AGGRESIVE, like the zombies. She should have been fucked up and dying by the first night TOPS, not 4-5 days later. |

...They eventually go to a mall where they're accosted by some dude with a badass handle-bar moustache; before he even says anything, you automatically know he listens to Pantera. His buddies, on the other hand, look like they drink Keystone Light and go shopping for purses.... |
