| ..you obviously didn't check out the link I posted. There are TONS of people who still have old/unpatched versions of windows, that's how worms like SASER still spread.. The average unpatched computer gets infected with something within 8 seconds of connecting to the internet.
It's like not getting your vaccines before going on a trip somewhere, it's absolutely stupid to not have your computer be as secure as possible. Not only are you a "danger" to yourself and your information, but also to everyone else that doesn't patch/update their system, as you become just one more computer that spreads worms like a plague.
People who don't update like you are the reason there are so many worms and viruses. |

| I did read your link btw; don't assume that just because your little link didn't change my opinion, that I didn't read it. I was actually in a very similar situation once, where I was formating a computer, and the moment I connected to the internet to download AVG/Zone Alarm the fucker got nailed with a virus. It actually happend something like 3-4 times consecutively, until I gave up, drove home and burnt Zone Alarm, and went back to retry.
It seems as if your taking offence to my comments... maybe it's your avatar... but if I'm right calm down man. I know exactly how dangerous and stupid it is to run my computer like this... but frankly I don't care. It's like having sex without condoms. Sure, if you wear them all the time you'll PROBABLY manage to avoid aids and his magical crew of sexually transmitted diseases, but then one day, when your standing infront of the mirror admiring yourself for preventing crabs, you'll get nailed with irritable bowel syndrome.
I used to have a fully updated, high security fucking 18000 firewalled computer. I even had a legit copy of windows on it... and guess what happened? My stupid hard-drive with all the music production I had done over the past 2 years and a Personal Project I was working on for the entire year at school (which was due the same week btw) failed completely. The reality of life is that I can spend hours and hours trying to protect my computer, but shit is gonna happen. I much prefer my setup now where I can get a billion different viruses and not care. And if you get a worm from me, well... then I guess you should have updated.
And no... although it's a really good closing statement to your little argument... I'm not the reason there are so many worms and viruses. The people manufacturing those little fuckers are the reason there are so many viruses. It's like saying I caused terrorism by smoking pot. |
