| PS3's gonna take forever to get going, if it doesn't tank outright.
For starters, the cheap modle with the smaller hard drive is priced around $600 US.
It's processor architecture is so drasticaly diffrent than what programers are used to that they have to learn to program all over again from scratch to make games for it, so that means that they can't be as efficient as they would be on standard hardware, AND the dev kits are way more expensive than average console dev kits.
All the "final" PS3s that were from the factory's production modle shown at a recent gaming convention were completely unstable and kept crashing and having to be rebooted a few times an hour.
No "unified" online service for it. Rather than do what Microsoft's done with Xbox Live or Nintendo is doing with a FREE service, they're leaving online play up to the individual game makers to figgure out. You're not gonna have a buddy list to look up your friends, you're not gonna have chat rooms to look for players, and your not going to have a standard protocol for communication, so sure, one game might run fast on the net, while the other has a badly optimized code and has tons of lag no matter what your connection, while yet another may be easy to hack (and won't have any consequences like being banned off the service for hacking it) |

Free xbox live style service. Download and play NES, SNES, N64, Genesis and Turbo Graphix 16 games. Plays gamecube games, too. Totally amazing new way of playing games that don't require memorizing diffrent buttons; you do it, it happens.
I forgot to add another one onto the PS3; DRM'd games. If you buy a PS3 game, you are buying a non-transferable license. PS3 needs to be connected to the internet to run, and you can't play a game that's registered to another machine. That means: No renting, no borrowing from friends, and no second-hand market, you can only buy new games. |

I totally want a Wii. Metroid is going to be beyond fucking amazing. Zelda, real sword and shield for attacks.. Plus aparently there's a Resident Evil game that's going to span all 4 games with 2 levels each, dedicated to tying up all the loose ends in the serries. |
