I make a POINT to sit where people put their bags, even if there are empty seats around.

I usually always walk on the escalator. Much fast then taking the stairs and less harsh on my poor old legs!
and if someone is blocking the left side I do what Ian does and walk really close to them and they usually move and if they don't then i dont mind so much standing..
As for the metro i agree but usually most people respect that rule when i am going on the metro, but it seems that never happens when I am going off but I just push into anyone in my way.

and whats with people always wanting to stare at you on the metro? Never seems to happen on the bus.. why ooh whyyyyyyy

heheh, I always use the mirror to stare at people. The best way to stop someone from staring at you is to stare back. Continuously until it makes them nervous. It can't really fail. It's a battle of nerve.

When somone on the bus blocks the window seat just so no one can sit next to them, I always push past them and take the seat even if there's a million other seats. I do it cause it pisses me off but mostly I do it cause it pisses me off that no one else ever does! Even when the bus is full that seat always stays free until I take it and we have to show those meanies they won't get away with it. They're sooo greedy!!! ouuuffff.

Oh and about the escalators, I have a magic phrase that will save all of your lives. It's called "Excuse me".

I think the staring and checking ppl out thing is one of the coolest things about montreal...

we tend to look ppl up and down and kinda do this whole "approval or dissaproval" thing.

try it in toronto and you get beat up.

*sigh* the metro, the only place on earth that reminds me that that despite thousands of years of evolution, man can still be the dumbest species on earth. Someone should write a book on Montreal transit etiquette =P

But apart from that, has anyone else noticed that after the past few years of repairing escalators in various stations they are now worse? Yeah they'll stop from time to time, but what I'm mostly talking about is that they go SO SLOW. I'm talking, you have to stare at it for a while to realize that it's moving. It's fucking ridiculous, they spend all those years fixing escalators and then they're slower than they ever were before.

And this may seem a bit left field, but I have to give a shout out to those exhibitionist types on the metro XD One time my boyfriend and I were going somewhere on the green line and this guy got on, sits down across from us and spreads his legs and has the HUGEST package I have ever seen with clothes on. I'm talking "hello, i just stuck an entire shirt down my pants" huge. I mean it was SO noticeable we couldn't stop staring and the more we stared the more he'd try and like position himself so we could get a better view and stare back at us since it was obvious we were talking about him lol. Then when we got off he just smiled as if he was very pleased with himself.

And don't get me started with the creepy guys that regularly expose themselves to my girlfriends... (which I noticed ONLY happens on the green line)

i think they did all those repairs so that the escalators would be more power efficient
either that or it's some bureaucratic hooking up a contractor buddy with a $$$ job

Ah ok that makes sense then, but it still doens't make sense for them to slow down during peak hours. Must be an error then I guess.

there's a little sensor near the bottom, when you walk past it, it turns back on at full speed.

It only slows down when someone hasn't been on it for a little while. My guess would be, that during peak hours it doesn't slow down much cause there's always people getting on it..

I don`t even say excuse me then.. I just sorta push past until I`m in the corner, as though I`ll sit on her purse or flowers if she`s not careful... or her little fucking dog... I find this sort of behavior is even more of a nuisance on buses.. ESPECIALLY north/south shore buses... where people think they have money and are entitled to more space or something...

yesterday morning we had crazy busdriver. he would either honk on the gas or honk on the break, knockin people over left and right... to the point where everyone was looking at each other like what the fuck...

then all of a sudden he stops and this hot hot woman almost goes flying to the ground... only she had managed to reach up and stop the fall by grabing hold of my left ass cheek.

when she grabbed it, i immediatly clenched hard, reverted to bedroom eyes mode and she didnt fall. Infact, using my ass for levarage, she even managed to pull herself back up.

and now we get to the good part of the story...after getting up, she just stood there for the rest of the ride in sheer awe and amazed at the resilliance and good will of my ass power. i can just imagine how bad she must have wanted me right then and there... poor child!

all you have to do is ask!@
