| since you did a left-wise assignment in your if statement, it will always return true. next time try using "==" instead of "=" |

| the only language that i know of that uses "=" as a test and not an assignment is VB, and vb doesn't have a printf() function..
PHP, CPP and C do however.. and they all use "==" as tests and "=" as assignments. |

| you. First of all, that's an infinite loop. Second of all you didn't specify which var is ==1 ;p |

it's a perfectly valid statement by the way.
1 always tests to be true.
and by the way, infinite loops are not syntax errors. they will almost always compile. |

| no, I didn't say it was a syntax error, it's a logic error, besides you initially corrected her for the same thing ;), cause it would always return true. so thyaaaaaaaaaa |

| there's no logic error in an infinite loop. sometimes you WANT an infinite loop, like in my example........... i specifically wanted it to infinitely display "thread" over and over.. which means there was no error. |
