see it here :
[ www.soundblaster.com ] Imagine having the power of a second 3.4GHz processor (more than 10,000MIPS) built into your PC that was dedicated just to audio! That's enough additional power to process more than 10 Billion instructions per second! With X-Fi that's exactly what you get! X-Fi is an XtremeFidelity Engine sitting at the heart of your PC, freeing up CPU resources so you get a performance boost. X-Fi's immense power also enables the ability to overcome the compromised sound quality of MP3s/CDs, Movie and game audio, which was never possible before because of the limited performance of the PC and previous sound cards. This means that you get a sound experience like no other. Hear it once, and you'll never turn back! Unlike any previous audio processor X-Fi uses a "Mode" architecture to harness and focus all that incredible power in the three key audio uses (Gaming, Entertainment, Audio Creation). This guarantees that you enjoy an audio experience that transcends the compromised sound quality of MP3 and other low-quality audio, while unlocking features that gamers, music lovers and entertainment enthusiasts have desired for many years! X-Fi will change the way people experience, use and interact with their audio across every imaginable application. This is achieved by overcoming some issues that have been inherent to audio delivery and by providing new and amazing features never before seen in the world of everyday audio! Click on one of the links below to find out more: Lowest Latency, Most Precise ASIO Recording! Experience the recording performance that only X-Fi can deliver! The XtremeFidelity engine delivers the lowest latency recording performance ever seen in this price-bracket with latency as low 1ms. Most importantly at does so with 0% CPU load! anyways check the link :D |

I got the tc powercore compact (because im on laptop and the rack unit is wayyyyyyyyyy overpriced) on ebay for $500 us.. I saw it at steves music for $1195 can. The Powercore element (dsp card) is the most cost effective if you have a tower, ive seen it for around 350-400 can...It comes with the same onboard plugins. -K |
