(Excerpt from Ottawa Xpress Newspaper) “As a self-declared old ravah – at the tender age of 25 – Phil Pentland (aka Fil-E Blunt) has been on the circuit long enough to remember old skool warehouse parties and wax nostalgic.

To fully understand Fil-E Blunt and his music, one must understand he has two competing influences acting on his style. The groovy, eclectic soul-food of DJ’s like Pedro, Trevor Walker and Frank Kozo – who Fil-E grew up listening to – and his own flair for the dramatic. Not the Diva dramatic, but a cool and quiet dramatic.”

Diverging from his roots as a house DJ over a decade ago, Fil-E Blunt has discovered a new love in his life: the deep bassy sounds of Nuskool breaks. Having made the switch over completely, he's carving out his own niche in the Canadian breaks scene and making waves with his mixes in the UK. He recently received an invitation to host his own radio show for the prestigious nuskoolbreaks.co.uk.
