DRUG DEALERS GIVE OUR KIDS DEATH SENTENCES

Editor, The Bulletin;

What a shame our young children, our future generation, are ruining their
brains, their health, their families, and their lives because of drugs.
With the legal system handing out such minor fines and jail terms, these
drug traffickers might as well laugh in the court's face.

These drug traffickers are killing our kids and our judges should look at
it this way, and give the dealers and growers fines and jail terms accordingly.

The dealers are giving our kid's death sentences and the judges should give
the dealers the same. The dealers are knowingly selling the drug of choice,
knowing the drug user could die or become mentally or physically ill.

We need stricter and harsher sentences - a sentence that will make these
horrible, unscrupulous people think about what they are doing if that is at
all possible.

We should also not allow our local or any stores to sell drug
paraphernalia, but unfortunately they do.

The article in July 8th Brooks Bulletin, "addiction takes our lives,
destroys families: AADAC Counsellor, by Ann Harvey was a very disturbing
article. Not only did the first paragraph tell of its availability to
Brooks (it should have read found in Brooks, not available), tells how to
use it, and even shows a picture of a girl demonstrating how to use crystal
methamphetamine, the article goes on to tell how much cheaper it is than
some other drugs and how women use it for appetite supressants, and of the
great high they get; and of the many other reasons for using.

Also this article tells how to get the drug with or without money.

This article explained more of the pros and very few of the cons. The
feeling of advertising to use this drug was more evident than the feeling
of staying away from this or any drug.

The drug problem whether it is crystal meth, marijuana, heroin, cocaine or
whatever, are all serious addictions.

Brooks is very overrun with drugs and it's time to clean it up.

The only way to fight back, to keep these drugs out of our communities is
for parents, concerned citizens, police enforcements and our legal system
to fight back, begin crime watches and report any and all suspicious
activities - do whatever it takes to bring these pushers, dealers, growers
down.

We should bust them all, from the little dealers to the growers, give them
hefty fines and long jail terms or better yet let the parents of a drug
addicted child punish them. Justice needs to be done.

Let's change things - write your M.L.A., your premier, your prime minister.
Write to whoever you can and change the way the drug dealers are treated,
with a stricter hand of the law, not a slap on the wrist.
