BURNING

To the editor:

Rome (Midland) burns while the fiddlers (elected officials --
prosecutors, judges and police, BAYANET and probation persons) fiddle.

Our community has deteriorated because of the use of illegal drugs and
most recently by the use of their synthetic counterparts.

Wake up to everyone living in this community! Parents, please check
your young people for the use of what the law enforcement community
refers to as legal synthetic drugs.

Synthetic cannabis is marketed as an herbal incense commodity to
enhance an erotic aroma. That's a fat lie. It can only be detected in
an expensive urine test. It is sold in an area market.

Bath salts, a form of synthetic meth, also is sold by local stores. It
can be smoked, swallowed, injected or mixed with liquids (tea or soft
drinks). These compounds cause temporary euphoria and are mind altering.

People have the potential to destroy themselves or the rest of us
while under the influence and operating a vehicle.

On a similar subject: Why are the medical marijuana users allowed to
keep their operator's license? They should lose their privilege to
drive when a medical hemp card is provided.

(Note: One circuit court judge is changing his probation orders to reflect that street legal highs still are a violation of his order.)
