STUDY USED MASSIVE DOSES OF THC

THE EDITOR:

Re: 'Pot affects motivation, memory,' Study cited by Deborah Joyce in which
19 adults were given 5 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC): Wise, L., Thorpe,
A. & Lichtman, A. (2009). Hippocampal receptors mediate the memory impairing
effects of Delta 9-tetrahydrocamabinol. Neuropsychopharmacology, 34(9).

There is a very enforced Health Canada program that starts at 0.5 mg
(of synthetic THC) and increases to 1 mg capsules over a period of
months, not minutes.

Taking 5 mg of Cesamet (a synthetic THC drug) as a single dosage is
totally irresponsible and possibly dangerous. The intent was obviously
to taint the subject mater results, as was the intent of the original
article.

Taking 5 mg of any of the synthetic THC products would render a
seasoned or chronic cannabis user useless! If anyone would like to
test this, ask anyone who has ever had it prescribed. I am one.

This was not a valid study. This was specifically designed to massacre
the public opinion on the medicinal benefits of THC and by
association, marijuana. This is a common tactic used to debunk public
opinion.

Don't be sold a story from a lazy researcher. Be in control of your
own facts, read.
