TEEN SHOT DEAD PAID THE PRICE FOR BEING A DRUG DEALER, FATHER SAYS

Police say the 18-year-old man who was shot dead in his Regent Park
home Monday afternoon was a well-known drug dealer who was "so
entrenched in the criminal lifestyle that he basically did little else
with his time."

The body of Nicholas Yombo was found by his father in their living
room at 124 River St. around 2:15 p.m. Monday. Detective Doug Dunstan
said the teen was an unemployed high school dropout with a Grade 9
education, who peddled his criminal trade in full view of his family.

In an interview with reporters aired on Citytv, Mr. Yombo's father,
Christian Yombo, didn't deny the police depiction of his son. "He was
a bad guy and they shot him," he said, adding that he knew his son was
a drug dealer. "Now he pays for that." It was Toronto's 58th murder of
the year.
