LEGALIZATION WILL END CRIME
Re: "Weed out grow-op dangers," Aug. 19. Kevin Martin seems to think people
who operate marijuana grow-ops are to blame if their amateurish electrical
systems cause a fire and that by "cracking down" on these individuals, the
fires would stop. Dream on Kevin. We have been "cracking down" on the
operators of marijuana grow-ops for the best part of 50 years now with very
little to show for it. How anyone can believe "more of the same" will
finally accomplish our goals is quite beyond me. The solution is to legalize
marijuana so the drug can be produced in safe, government-inspected
facilities rather than in the homes of bungling amateurs.
