DRUGS LEGAL, OUTDOOR SMOKING BANNED?

Listening to a program on the CBC recently I was disgusted but not
surprised at what I was hearing. It seems that some experts think
that "drugs" should be legalized.

What? Have they given up and thrown in the towel by giving criminals
their way on this very serious issue? Our children will not be safe
in the schools and it has been proven that the school authorities do
not have any control .

I'm sure about one thing, if I had a son or a daughter at any school
in Peterborough they would not be there for long. On the other hand ,
the city has passed a bylaw where if you smoke a standard tobacco
cigarette at an outdoor venue you are charged and fined. Sounds like
someone has got their values mixed up. I would think that smoking a
cigarette outdoors would not be a problem . . and smoking at a bus stop?

I thought that this was a joke when I first heard of it, but it seems
not. Who thinks up all this stupidity and gets paid for it? It won't
be long until they start to check the houses and if there are
children at home . . . guess what?

I am a non-smoker, but feel that they are carrying this a bit too far
when these people involved in the "grow-op" business get away with a
slap on the wrist or a trivial fine .
