DON'T STEW OVER LEGAL POT BEEF

The Province Federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said in the House
of Commons this week that the government is concerned about the issue
of smoking medical marijuana in public.

"That's why I have instructed my officials to examine this issue and
develop options," said the health minister.

According to a Canwest News Service story by reporter Meagan
Fitzpatrick, the feds have been under pressure regarding clarification
of medical pot use in public. One source of this pressure is a bar
owner in Burlington, Ont., who faced allegations of discrimination
when he asked a legal medical marijuana user to not smoke outside his
business.

Of course, the pot user at that time should have just done the
respectful thing, moved a few metres away from the guy's bar, then
puffed himself into nirvana.

But since he didn't do that, and since it became a great big stinky
discrimination thing, zillions of taxpayers' dollars will now be spent
so the government can clarify where we can smoke prescribed pot.

What a waste of time and money.

How about we follow these two rules as best we can, and all just try
and get along:

1) All laws around cigarettes apply to medical pot smoking. In other
words, no doobies at the diner.

2) All laws around where you can and can not take more traditional
medicine, like pills, apply to medical pot, unless doing so breaks
rule No. 1.

There you go. Solved. Now let's move on to matters that matter.
