CLASSES TO INFORM PUBLIC ABOUT POLICE

People living in south Weld County will have a chance next month to
learn more about sheriff's deputies, police officers and how they do
their jobs.

The Weld County Sheriff's Office is teaming with the Frederick Police
Department to conduct the workshop, which will start March 17, and
will meet every Tuesday night for 12 weeks from 7 to 9 p.m.

During the classes, people will learn about drug abuse recognition,
how to recognize a methamphetamine lab, evidence collection and
traffic accident investigation.

Applications for the class can be picked up at the Frederick Police
Department, 333 5th St. in Frederick, or at the Weld County Sheriff's
Substation, 4209 Weld County Road 24 1/2.

Anyone with questions can call sheriff's deputy Glen Cowan, (970)
356-4015, Ext. 8787, or Frederick police Sgt. Gregg Lotspeich, (303)
833-2468 Ext. 104.
