I found Howland and Littmann's reporting on Initiative 685
["Medicinal Marijuana," July 3] well researched, well written, and
well realized. I was dismayed however, by the repeated assertion
that this "end-the-drug-war initiative" was the only game in town.
It isn't!
There currently exists--and will exist until January 1,
1998--a comprehensive intiative, I-197, that seeks to legalize
marijuana for medicinal, industrial, and adult personal use. No
hidden clauses, no mixed messages.
