LEGALISE CANNABIS

To the editor:

The fiasco surrounding Canada's gold medal winner, Ross Rebagliati, proves
one thing: the folks who support cannabis prohibition are absolute idiots.

Do the lawmakers of the land relish the fact they are acting like fools by
imposing such draconian measures against such a plant as cannabis?

Canada should take the international lead and legalize the medical and
recreational use of cannabis. Put it under government control and taxation
and free the resources of the criminal justice system to concentrate on the
real criminals.
