Ladies and gentlemen(and everyone else in between, aliens, metroheterosexuals, etc..), COMPACT DISCO is back in session, so prepare to have your rhombus rocked.

This Saturday, get down to one of the greatest and most influential DJs to come out of Montreal: give it up for the Master of Records, ROBERT DE LA...GAUTHIER.

Robert's accomplishments are numerous, and far too lengthy to list in this invite (besides, no one reads those crazy-long artist bios, right?), so here's the short version:

As a kid, he frequented the original disco roller rinks - one of the first DJs to play house music in Montreal - spent time DJing in New York, where he met good friend Frankie Knuckles - played some of the first illegal warehouse parties in Montreal - lived in Europe from 1994 - 2004, and has played gigs in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Macedonia, Slovenia, and Holland (among many other countries around the world) - has played every type of clubs, raves, events you can think of, including (but not limited to) Le Garage, Bar Lezard, Business, Sona, Circus, Red Lite, The Pavilion, The Cooler, The Crisco, Stereo, Playground... , etc...

When Robert approached us to do an all-night disco set (a rare occurrence, as he mostly plays tech-house and electro these days), we had to mull it over...for like, two seconds. It's going to be a beautful night, and definitely one for the books. See you there!

Expect some Classic garage gems, electronic disco, salsoul,etc...

So far it's great and growing and lots of fun, but some comments I got from some people about the location made me remind you not to miss a great even because of the reputation of a space because frydays and sat... are with a certain crowd.

A nice space to mingle with a mix of colorful open minded people with an interesting selection of different types of elektronik musik.

I will be playing music, if weather is warm and nice, on the roof terrase until 23h00. Then will move down in a nice club with a nice wooden floor, nice warm sound system, nice area to sit and dance and have a party with a cool mix of fun and interesting people.

The place is super interesting with all the levels, 2 terraces, there's even a place where they make sundaes, and ice cream stuff and there will be some bar b q and food for those hungry.

Hopefully many of you that still have energy and will come directly after PIKNIK ELEKTRONIK. U can get off at berri metro and it's a 5 min walk

Expect a very upfront(actual. new, just released) good blend of nice minimal, tek house, elektro, house, tek, etc... perhaps some classics...

Recipe
For a good time:

Start with a generous helping of open mindedness. On a hardwood dance floor, mingle together a diverse collection of colorful people. Shake them up with high and low frequency sound. Season generously with a variety of elektro, minimal, tek house, acid, hypnotic & melodic textures, house with tribal, Latin, African, deep, disco or dub rhythms. Excite taste buds with a sprinkle of classic tracks. Include artist performances and visuals to taste. Chill on one of the different terraces or levels. Top with a cherry, and serve. Feeds the body and soul.

(Note: Please use only the highest quality Ingredients.)
WARNINGS: Some of our people may have had contact with nuts.

Pour bien s’amuser :

Commencez avec portion généreuse d’ouverture d’esprit. Ensuite, sur plancher de danse de bois franc, mélangez une fusion d’individu colorés. Brassez le tout avec hautes et basses fréquences vibrantes. Assaisonnez avec une pincée d’électro, un soupçons d’acide et tek house, un grain de minimal mélodique hypnotisant et envoûtant. Ajoutez au tous des rythmes house tribal, latin, africain ou dub. Excitez le tout avec un occasionnel succès du passée.
Accompagnez de performances artistiques et visuelles. Chill sur les différents niveaux et terrasses. Une cerise sur le tout et servez. Nourrissez-vous corps et âme.

Imagine all those Depeche Mode songs on that sound system! Stereo Bar's sound is also pretty good, but upstairs it's unique. in any case, it will be a blast!
So we'll see.

Si il y as asser de gens, le Stereo en haut est sur le stand by. Imaginer tout les tounes et remix sur le systeme de son du stereo! Aille! En bas c cool aussi le son, mais en haut c unique. De toute facons, en haut ou en bas, ou les 2, pour 6$, on va se peter un time!

I've also prepared projections of art work, 12" covers, albums, funny covers from Japan, or spain, ect...and I'll also be using the projector to play some live versions with visual off DVDs with sound.

J'ai preparer des projections, pochettes de disques rares, du japon genre, espagne, c drole, pis des images cool a projecter en relation avec DM, et j'vais me servir d'un dvd avec le son pour jouer quelque piece LIVE.

Warner Records Canada has also provided CDs / Live DVDs to give out during the night.

Remix from I feel loved I guess or was it dream on, I have to check, but an effectiv mix, yeah, basically just loops from the album version arranged nicely.

The umek mix is quite outstanding!

There's so much good mixes and material to play, I need a complete weekend to play, not just a night!!!

Expect some early warehouse house classics for the half of my set, but, also some acid, tech house, early trance and stuff I played at warehouse parties, crisco and first raves until end of 1993 for the second part.

Even If I played real vocal NY warehouse stuff then, I always had a small "tech" edge to it, mixed with Cuntiness, soulfulness.

It's at that time I started introducing classic detroit techno (Derrick may, Kevin Saunderson,ect...)with the house stuff(mainly NY house from the first sound factory era), and acid from the usa, then the british, belgium and german stuff.

So my set will develop in the way it happened in it's evolution.
