If you (or any other act) had done that for a party I was throwing that I had booked you for, I would have chewed you out for pulling a sketch move like that... Hell, I've done it before to people who didn't show up, even if their reasons were more understandable. (Missing a paid gig is still missing a gig, regardless of social circumstances).

DAVE was AWESOME in Ottawa.

He went from Chuggy to heavy 303 acid to oldschool techno, etc. Tones of tracks that I've never heard before.

Making me wish I caught him in Montreal on Thursday, Toronto on Friday as well as the 2 hour Ottawa set I was lucky enough to catch.

I'd like to check out some DJs with a good sense of style as well.

None of this Hugo Boss, tight white T-shirt shit though. Colour co-ordinated, matured flair, and maybe some raved out accessories as long as they aren't too flashy. (I'm thinking more like gas masks and visors rather than LED soothers)

... Although music style, yeah, that'd be pretty tight. DJs could list multiple styles that they play and would show up in the results for the engine? To qualify you'd have to have had a previous booking listed under that style before I guess? (So that some douchebag DJ doesn't list himself under EVERY style so that he shows up on all the results)

It's like 25$ to catch a one way trip to Ottawa, plus 3$ in bus fare to get to the venue though. Easily done and covered by the promoters generally. (Unless you're playing for free... But musicians should never really be doing that.)

Catching a ride wouldn't have costed that much less.

So I called up Korg again, looks like the driver on the piece of gear that I bought is about three versions old.

Now all I need to do is wipe the padKontrol driver on my laptop, get a portable hard drive, transfer and update.

The version dealeo didn't fix the issue, but when we re-installed everything and re-programmed the padKontrol as a Keyboard w/ controls it worked for recording purposes.

So when I want to record on the fly I can use either my edirol or my korg (but only using one tool in Reason at a time instead of using one tool for each the edirol and the korg), but if I wanted to play the both of them at the same time without recording (or with just recording the edirol), all I need to do is reprogram the padKontrol as a midi function again and assign the instrument I want it to affect to the proper midi channel.

I offically love Korg Tech Support.

Yep, and it didn't work.

I went to moog audio today and tried to get it to work, no dice. The akai mpd... 16 I think? Had the same results as well... Spend like an hour and then some in the shop. After all this I hope that the solution is really complicated, because if it's an easy one I'm going to be giving my head a good solid smack for spending all this time trying to get this to work.

We did get it to work with Garage band on their mac system, which leads me to think that something is weird with Reason 3... The product claims to be Reason enabled though.

Tried to call up Korg themselves at the shop, waited on hold for a while while they tried to page the guy, then said their product specialist would contact me within 5 minutes if I left a message. Did that, then waited around for 20 minutes, called back and the office was closed. (ARGH!!)

I'll try calling again tomorrow, but I'm back in Ottawa now so I can't return it if for some reason Reason doesn't support the feature... (I don't see why it wouldn't, but stranger things have happened) until I come back to Montreal (3 weeks away)

Yep, already had that one set up (I have 100% functionality of the pad except for the function for the notes to stay in the program that I'm using.. all that happens when I hit a pad is the note plays, it doesn't stick..), but thank you.



Convenience - and also because my laptop doesn't have great specs on it to effectively run something like cubase with reason plugged into it... Never really tried Ableton live, maybe some time in the future, but for now I'm just trying to get my pad to work the way I want it to.

I have everything set up right (i.e. able to make sound), tried programming the padKontrol in as both a MIDI function (worked) and as a Control Surface (didn't work), have the notes set up properly, etc. etc..

The issue that I'm having is not being able to record what I'm doing in real time.

I was told at the shop that it's possible to have my functions recorded, I've been able to get sound to come out of the NNXT and Redrum, but have not been able to get this product to work in the way I wanted it to when originally purchasing it..

I've looked up solutions on the Korg product help forums and on threads for reason help and have not been able to find any solutions, just a bunch of other people with the same problem.

My laptop is able to take USB plug-ins. My Eridol controller for synths/melodies works perfectly for recording/playing.

Does anyone know how to get this to work?
