Competition is a good thing ,it motivates the promoter to make his event better than the next man's,which may not be viable for the promoter but very much so for the people who go.
If there was no competition you have a better chance at showing up at a shitty party ,cause the promoter doesnt put much effort into things because he know's he has the gauranteed audience.
