I'm re-reading George R R Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. I'm just now finishing up A Clash of Kings, so I have to accept that I won't be done in time for the release of A Dance with Dragons in 6 days, but reading book two while watching book one on HBO certainly was pleasant (yes, I'm talking about A Game of Thrones) :)

I'm also starting Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis.

Beautiful girls are used to getting people's attention (paraphrasing adoration). Especially if there is ANY focus made on their appearance from the very start. Which is probably why so many of them go for the assholes: they probably find it refreshing, or something.

I'm actually slightly disturbed by the fact that you felt the need to specify "beautiful girl" in this sentence.
Not because it's wrong to want your partner to be pleasing on the eyes. But it shouldn't be the #1 criterion.

Tip: if someone attempts to approach me by telling me they find me pretty, it's instant rejection. If, on the other hand, they manage to say that whatever detail in my appearance makes them think this or that about my personality, then... maybe I'll talk. If I'm in a good mood :) I'm assuming I'm not alone in this - except some might be more easily approachable than I tend to be x)

If you want to get a girl that's worth your time........ if you just shower them with compliments on their physique (which is the impression I'm getting from also the "I think you're cute, too" part), all you're gonna get is a (more than likely shallow) girl who craves compliments (thus possibly insecure as well). Not good.

Yeah, that's exactly what made me decide never to lend money I'm not ready to lose anymore. Of course I'd very much like to see any money I'm owed again, and I wouldn't lend to someone I know would abuse this policy, but, yeah.

well, I did go out *some*. Had drinks at a friend's during the later part of the evening, and went to see Claudine and Franck play at some Vieux Port bar for about an hour and a half (during which I had a latte and an energy drink) until I accepted the fact that I was way too tired to party and took a cab home.

And then the next day, I shopped for yarn and moved furniture around.
Most quiet weekend of this year, I think. It did me good!
