while this is on my mind, go check out the Absolute Old Skool series... just amazing tunes, most of which I seemed to have missed in my early days, but these are gems. not quite happy hardcore, more of that breaks/hardcore and a slightly darker sound than HH but man if this music was a woman I would make love to her all day long

First happy hardcore I heard... took me a long time to discover what it was, but it turned out to be Brisk and Trixxy - Eye Opener. Somehow it made its way onto radio, Winnipeg's little french community station... envol 91.1 FM. I was like 14 or something. Man I don't know where I'd be without that radio station.
