This is what I like about this series. Just when you think it can't get any worse... it gets worse ! In the last chapter, we saw Gatsu ( the translators sometimes spell it " Gatts " ) get smacked up by the leader of the " demon dogs " , who were sent by the King to avenge princess Charlotte's " honor ". In the end, the leader of the demon dogs ( the monster with a dick in his mouth ) got owned by an angry and battered Gatsu.

* HUGE UPDATE *

This is some serious end of the world shizzle !

And believe me, it gets WORSE !

The next few chapters will answer all the questions you might have about this manga : the author is taking us on a flashback. So you wil learn about all of the events which happened before this huge fight between Lord Mozgus and Gatsu. After the flashback, the story will pick up right when it ended, at the castle, in Albion, with a battered Gatsu and his friends fighting for their lives.

Some background info. Gatsu, before becoming the black swordsman, was part of a band of mercenaries called " the band of the hawks ". Griffith was their leader. Both Griffith and Gatsu were in love with Caska ( she has short hair here since it all of this is happening earlier ). Griffith is also in love with the King's daughter, Charlotte. That's why the King kidnapped Griffith, and tortured him for a couple of months. That'll teach him to mess with the King's daughter ! The rest of the band of the hawks have rescued Griffith.

Albion has become a demon's nest and everybody tries their best to know what the hell is happening around them ! A black entity threatens to engulf the whole of Albion... And who is the SKULL KNIGHT !? My, this is getting more exciting by the minute !

The Software-only route is the safest one : milking their IP's ( sonic, shining force series, space harrier, afterburner, phantasy star, etc. ) is a conservative but efficient way to survive in a crowded - saturated - game market. But you know that Sega has been integrated - read : eaten alive - by Pachinko giant " Sammy " ( formerly known as American Sammy ) : now Sega has the financial freedom to get back in the hardware market. Their strategy is the same as the dreamcast : arcade hardware and home hardware are the same, same format - GDROM -, etc.

Some analysts foresee a flop. It's a wait and see.

Console versions of the arcade hardware - same as the official forthcoming console, specs wise - are available in Japan.
