I do not...does he still live out there? Our most famous export atm is probly Rodi Style...Im sure the scene is tiny compared to Toronto and Montreal. But since Ive been there it seems to be growing (but maybe thats because Im becoming more familiar with it).

Its not bad though...they manage to get out quite a few name djs, although promoters and locals complain they can't put on shows where the DJs aren't name because not enough people would know who they are...shame.

Ding-dong! May I interject for a second? As a Burger Shack employee for the past three years, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that if you're craving White Castle, the burgers here just don't cut it. In fact, just thinking about those tender little White Castle burgers with those little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in your mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one... just makes me want to burn this motherfucker down. Come on, Pookie, let's burn this motherfucker down! Come on, Pookie! Let's burn it, Pookie! Let's burn this motherfucker down! Let's burn it down! Let's burn it! So you guys maybe should just suck it up and go to White Castle.

Sort of. Except that technically Hamas is firing rockets into Israel proper and Israel has left gaza except for border control, air control and water control, so in a sense there is no illegal occupation of Gaza...and Israel is simply defending themselves from rocket attacks

It was my opinion as well that it was not defense, but the Israeli ambassador corrected me on that last week.

A consumer culture is simply a culture that places the emphasis on you, the consumer, rather than the other agents in the economy (the firms, and the government). I fail to see what the problem with that is. And for those who say consuming doesnt buy happiness, thats fine. But the consumer culture simply advocates allowing each person to choose how to allocate their time so that they can choose the consumer goods and non-consumer goods (like free time to play games, and rave, and philisophise, and read and do art...) that make them most happy.

So really, hes attacking excessive materialism. Which is a problem depending on the extent that you feel we have an obligation to help those with aids in africa, crack-whores in Montreal, and underfunded disabled people in toronto.

Sorry, but it kind of bugs me when people mess up the two words. Because they're completely different (opposites really).

But yeah...cool art. I likey. I kind of want one of the pieces for my living room. It would make a great conversation peice. Especially when you're high.

Anarkoid, I wasnt suggesting that you being unbiased. I was simply stating that looking at it evidence and current state of affairs objectively, you cant disagree with two things.

1) Israel has the right to defend themselves, when attacked on their own land, but in a responsible, measured, and justified manner.
2) They are clearly defending themselves
3) There are only 2 ways you can call their defensive offensives justified, measured and responsible. The first is if you valued an Israeli life 100 times more than you valued a Palestinian life. That would make you biased. The second would be if you didnt know what you were talking about. That would make you ignorant.

Lets start with what we both agree with. Hamas is all for the destruction of Israel. As a result, they will never want to negotiate peace with Israel. So, until Hamas is no longer in power, peace talks can't go on. You can also assume that as long as Hamas is in power, rocket attacks into Israel will continue. And so, Israel has a right to defend themselves. However, killing 100 Palestinians for every Israeli that dies is hardly measured. Neither is cutting off 1.4 million from basic nessesities.

And for the record, of the 5000+ rockets that have been fired into Israel since 2000, the majority end up in fields. You can make the assumption that for everyday rockets keep pouring into Israel, there is a less than 1% a Israeli will die. In other words, even if one is stupid enough to think that cutting of Water, Electricity and food from Palestians will reduce the chance that someone in Israel will die from a rocket, is it justified, measured or responsible? It is not.

IF you can unbiasedly and objectively look at the situations and tell me otherwise, please go ahead and explain it for me

Correct me if im wrong, but theres been 11 deaths since 2000 due to Hamas. And that hardly justifies Israels actions

Mise à jour » Gamos a écrit dessus Thu 24 Jan, 2008 @ 3:53am
In other words, killing dozens of people weekly and making 1.4 million people live on the verge of a humanitarian disaster by blockading them from even the most basic nessesities such as power, food and water because they kill 1.3 of your civilians per year is not a justified response.

If you think it is, then you are implicitly placing a weight on Israeli citizens that is at least 100 times of the weight placed on a Palestinian citizen.

And no matter how you argue it, you can't justify that unless you are (a) very biased or (b) very ignorant

Regarding your second point, your right. Hamas and Israel can't negotiate. So negotiations are on hold until either (a)Hamas is not relected or (b)the Middle East peace talks begin. But in the interim Palestinians should be able to live in dignity.

The therapeutic effects of E for many of us arent up for discussion. Some people say it changed their life, was the best therepy they ever had, turned their life around ect.

That said, there are obvious negitive effects that can result from taking the drug, and theres even the possibility of death, as miniscule and unlikely as it may be. Further, not everyone experiences the therapeutic effect, and if you don't, it might actually push you farther into depression due to the come down effects.

So heres the question for discssion. If you have a friend that is having trouble and its obvious that E might help, do you suggest it?

^?. Not for me.

I like go to raves sober every now and then. Its actually pretty cool. Its still fun, you still have a great time and you enjoy yourself. You still have a great time with your friends, and you can still have pretty good conversations with them.
I personally, was so scared that I would hate it and be like "OMG this is retarded, I cant believe I do this. I cant believe I thought these people we're amazing" But it wasnt like that at all. I still thought all those people were amazing, and that raves were amazing. It actually makes the whole rave and after-hours scene scene better for me, cuz know I enjoy it sober.

Comparatively, being the DD is shit. Everyone is drunk, and on a completely different wavelength. All you want to do is get home, everyone pisses you off, and you despise everyone drunk while your there. People say the dumbest shit, act so ridiculously and ugh. I hate being the dd. And I would suggest never trying it unless you absolutely have too. I hate being a sober around drunk people. Its even worse if you have to stay with them for hours while they have a great time.

I understand that Israel has a right to defend themselves, but cutting of the Gaza Strip from all supplies to stop rocket attacks that destroy a few crops is hardly an appropriate or justified response.

Of course, one could wonder why Egypt just wouldn't offer to take over gaza strip security enforcement from the Israelis (water and airspace occupation). Its very sad to see people suffer so much due to the sheer incompetence of men. I know the optimal outcome is a free Palestine, but in the interim, Egypt reoccupying Gaza is better than Israel occupying Gaza. It would, at the least, alleviate the humanitarian crisis that comes with 65% unemployment and 80% poverty rates.

Im sure its coming. IMO its only a matter of time before a distinct Gaza strip exists within Egpyt, much like the distinction of Quebec and Canada. Its the only economically and politcally viable way to go

all it takes is a positive attitude and a determination to have a good time. Once you get there, the vibes and music will get you pretty high on ur own...
That said, caffiene, otc pills, the music, the vibes...none of it will make you superman. Its 4am, and your dancing to music with a decent bpm. So dont expect anything legal to give you the energy the illicit drugs do. In other words, rational expectations are probably the 2nd thing you need to have a good time partying sober. Your limits are nearer; you have to take more breaks.

But if you know going in that you can't dance for as long, or as hard, and you keep up a positive attitude, I think you can have a pretty great time partying sober. When your not dancing, you can be chatting to randoms, soaking up the atmosphere, and just loving the night.
For me, its never been harder than that. IF im gonna get out of my warm, comfy bed with my wonderful dreams to go dancing, Im gonna have a great fucking time. period.
