If he were one of those people that was a vegetarian and understood how to do it healthily that'd be one thing...I'm not saying I'm not a fan of vegetables...I just don't steam EVERYTHING and eat it plain...oh wait he puts some brown yeast supplement on it that I actually tried...actually made the steamed cauliflower blander...not even kidding. I made asparagus with butter and garlic with my steak last night...yummy!
I bought him two REALLY good vegetarian cookbooks with easy & yummy recipes for xmas last year and he refuses to use them :(:( too much effort of something? He won't even use tofu cause the unfermented stuff contains estrogen...or something silly like that.
Am hoping to go for Japanese before I leave. I've been told there's two really good places...though I can't remember either. Was supposed to go to one last week when we went out, but Daddy decided to go to a more formal restaurant rather than a one with good food :( Paying more means it's better to him :(
I bought a bunch of groceries when we went to the store...my stepmother loves bacon and hadn't had it in two years!

My father took me to some high class place in old Montreal...I had duck
their soup and salad were decent...their food...well...I can cook better
Then again he's a vegetarian...and that's not even food, it's what food eats. So I don't expect him to know good food.
The goth kids I stayed with took me to some cafe, trying to find something similar to american food? It was...well just awful. Three different kinds of mayo and not a single bit of flavor. We also ordered a pizza the next night...just as tasteless :(

I'm not one for fried food...however I like it to have flavor
LOVE japanese food, especially Sashimi

So far the best place I've gotten food was McDonnald's
and I'm not one for fast food either.

Went down to Vermont today and I bought a nice steak...and well I think it was still screaming when I ate it :) :)
Also think I grossed my father out, I was eating raw pieces while waiting for the grill to heat up. Only do that with very fresh, very high quality meat.
My stepmom was cute, I cut a piece off and cooked it medium for her and she loved it. She's used to steamed vegetables and other tasteless foods. I don't understand how she's still alive after 2 years of this! Every time I cook for myself I make her a little plate too.

I'm below a size 1 since I've been up here and nothing fits...it's a little depressing.

I practice with a large selection of music and bring a loose set list with multiple directions I can take it depending on the crowd
I'm certainly not going to insult my patrons by trainwrecking on stage because I'm not prepared to spin, they pay to see me...
I also spend about 2 hrs per day working with my music so that I can become more accustomed to working with the my new music.
With this set I have chosen some band's/producer's songs I want to include, however they're subject to change.
I have also chose some songs that will be included, for I'm going to spin "I'm On A Boat" just for the hell of it. Also I am going to open with the beginning of my released mix to ease the transition.

I'm up to 25421 downloads since the beginning of September (know this cause my Demonoid tracker crashed when the site went down and fixed itself the beginning of September...site's still down though & I miss it)

I guess the answer would be 50% prepared to 50% n the fly?

I want an explination, why do you think you can just utter comments like that on event pages?
Are you jealous or something?

I'm calling you out faggot.
Explain yourself..

You do realize that fighting over the internet is like the special Olympics...even if you win you're still fucking retarded.
Also you do realize that you are giving this person (who you've never heard of) exactly what they want: attention & a shit ton of publicity and attention by doing this
in other words you are helping to a douche get his name out there...bad press is still press, it's when they top talking about yo that you know you're nothing.

Best options for handling a situation like this is:
1. ignore them - as you said he's a n00b
2. if he posts shit on your events - make fun of the guy. Be witty, not angry. A good insult can do more than all the bickering in the world.
3. If his actions start to hurt your events then quit bitching about it and go fuck the guy up. That way the next time he wants attention he'll think twice before using your name to get it. If you're not a fighter than do something just awful to him...like egg him, spray him with some fermented doe in heat piss (that one works REALLY well), or come up with your own manner of revenge that he will never live down. The key to this is not to get angry...I fed a kid Dog Shit once for trying to sabotage one of my parties...he liked his fingers clean...then puked all over my X (added bonus) the next day when his room mates told him

I have a lot of experience dealing with this shit in my local scene, especially since I'm the only promoter booking international performers rather than the same 10 headliners on rotation. YES he's pry jealous, and you're playing right into his hands. Remember there was this one promoter, called herself Kandi Rayne. She was a junky and her boyfriend was a want to be thug. Due to her being a junky (with the drugs around her 3 small children) I renegaded her first party and basically killed her attendance. Her & her boyfriend starting harassing me & my events/patrons/performers...I went to her next party as a VIP guest of her headliner (who as been my friend for a long time) and beat the hell out of her boyfriend (he started it) & her outside her own party...haven't heard a word from them ever since and it's been over 1.5 years.

Violence doesn't solve everything, but sometimes it's the only thing pieces of shit understand.

So don't stoop to his level, don't give him attention on boards...just ask around, find out who he his and teach him a lesson...one way or the other

I'll speak for myself, but I know I'm not the only one thinking it: it's not that Montreal hates DJs, we love 'em as much as the next city. What we tend to hate here, is DJ ego

We're just more down to earth here, I guess. Doesn't mean there's no room for what you might be offering, Cy. Blisss consistently gets gigs at great events, and makes the crowd move.

I'll give a listen to your stuff soon. In the meantime, you still might wanna check out Kinetik next May, I'm sure you'd fit right in. Trust me, I know doctors.

lol...much like the Bliss we have here: He's a decent Dj with good sets and a nice following, but he can be bit of a dick otherwise. We just accept that about him and tease him when he gets to bad.

I'm not much one for ego unless I'm presented with it, then I turn it into a pissing contest which normally ends in me running around with something phallic shaped yelling "Mine's Bigger...you wanna suck it?? $5 make you holler!"
I'm confident in what I do, but arrogance isn't my thing...unless I'm messing with some one :P (see above).
I think I've been speaking with some one about that party...not sure. Have met a lot of people interested in what I do for future events.
Let me know what you think about it. It's a wide variety made to show case my rave style and goth style at once...was really hard to make fit on one CD

One thing Bliss is wrong about - goths do care about DJ ability...they love some one that can actually mix their style of music into a more dance driven set.

Cya-fi, honestely this probably wasn't the best place to look for a gig seeing as it is already crawling with about a million djs who are so desperate to play they would probably sell their own mother for a gig

As for the industrial scene in Montreal, its pretty wack

First off forget impressing anyone with any dj skills or resume, they don't care, that crowd hates the whole dj concept. They just want you to play hits and take requests and will really get in your face if you don't comply (one of the worst crowds I've encountered for that)

Those cats hang out at Passeport or Saphir on fridays where you'll hear the same boring 80s hits, "Closer" by NIN and some crappy EBM type stuff like VNV Nation and oh yeah the Underworld song from Trainspotting just to make sure there's a bit of "techno"

You'll basically start djing some of your tunes, then some assholes will come running up and ask you for NIN and if you don't do it, they just go complain to the manager and the promoter about how much of an asshole you are and how egotistical you are for trying to play your own music etc etc...

On your sixth track, you'll get kicked off the decks and the promoter (who is usually the resident dj) will then politely play some NIN and you'll be banned from playing Montreal again

End

When was I ever banned from playing Montreal...Like I'm really trying to get where your coming from, but half of this isn't even applicable.

Oh hun trust me...I'm no stranger to the promotions/planning part of shows, been doing it a lot longer thank Djing. lulz
In regards to the industrial scene - Already got their patrons interest on VampireFreaks, promoters in Montreal are a little harder to work with...mainly because none of them check their messages regularly. And their very limited playlists is exactly why I've had so much success in the US gothic scene...people are sick of going to the same club and listening to the same shit. Most go out of tradition, not love...my music gives them a completely different experience.
And if you listened to my mix you'll find a remix of 'Hand That Feeds'
Haven't run into a hate for the whole DJ concept...maybe I'm doing things a bit differently? I have gotten well over 1000 adds from the Montreal area on MySpace in the past 2 weeks...it's ll about adding a personal touch :)

Did you even listen to my mix...or are you just talking blind at this point?
Seriously if you are going to give me advice I'd rather you actually acquaint yourself with what I do before trying to piss on it.

What's funny is we have a Bliss over here...you're a lot like him actually...

But here...let's see what Goth kids think of my music...

This is what I do to Goth Clubs...Cincinnati Ohio - Church - HUGE turn out - I'm certainly not playing well anything goth...

Infected Mushroom - Becoming Insane
<br><a href="http://vampirefreaks.com/playvideo?v=104302">Dancefloor during my set @ American gothic</a><br>

<br><a href="http://vampirefreaks.com/playvideo?v=79472">DJ Cy-Fi @ The Chamber 2</a><br>
