| Description: | Women On Wax has been a yearly event that the Vitus Crew holds dear to its heart. Embracing the DJ culture and celebrating female artistry are just a couple of the driving forces behind this event. We started off this voyage in the Summer of 2002 at a club on Long Island. At that party, new friends were made and a vision was spawn. The party was small and quaint, but it had a family vibe that we all enjoyed in. It was at that point that the founding DJs, Jen Mas and Heddabombz, decided that they wanted to do this on a yearly basis and take the opportunity to bond with other deejanes and supply a good time for all to share in at little or no cost to the fans. Hence, the next two WOW installments were held at Cedar Creek Park, and we all enjoyed a day in the sun with free treats and fine beats from a vast array of talented ladies. Last year we took a hiatus, as Heddabombz is currently a graduate student and Jen has been busy with her travels. But Jen was not going to let the party fade. She set out to make it happen once again and this year she's teamed up with Nicole of Tiny Recordings to do just that. Nicole is a veteran promoter from the early Storm Rave days and handles an impressive roster of international DJs. She also has a soft spot for lady DJs and was enthralled to help get WOW back on track again. So here we are at installment number 4, and to continue the trend we are only charging 5 dollars for a stellar night at the legendary Sullivan Room. At this year's WOW, Jen has decided to play something special. She wanted to blend in with the vibe of the lineup so she's preparing a special classic techno and hardcore set, with a touch of her unique flair. The Sullivan Room is a renowned club that has hosted many famous DJs, and she wants to embrace the vibe and take you back in time with some familiar tunes that will get your body grooving. Mz Buttakup - Tiny Recordings, Aurora Borealis Productions - PA Mz Buttakup is best known for ripping up dancefloors with her unique style of Disco-Funk. Her passion and energy spill out through the sexy beats working the dancefloor into a frenzy. You can count on her interaction with the crowd to ensure everyone has an unforgettable time, and she will be bringing the beats to help make this night a memorable one. Mama C - Vitus, Groove Therapy, Neverworld - NYC Mama C has been a Northeast favorite for years. She's loved for her fierce hardcore and jungle sets, and is known for her impeccable and intense mixing style. She has played parties all along the East Coast and the Midwest, and continues to impress fans with her raw to the core cuts. Not one to limit herself as a DJ, she enjoys playing other styles as well, and at this year's WOW you will get to experience one of those rare occasions. Get prepared for an hour of booty shaking mayhem as she will be dropping a set of hard and booty house for your listening pleasure. Heddabombz - Vitus - NY For over 6 years, Heddabombz has been gracing the decks with her funky style of house and drum and bass. With a 10 year classical music background in both violin and piano, she set out to create a sound that people wanted to hear. And with bookings from here to Utah, she has done just that. One of the original founders of this event, she will be making her long overdue return to play a set of disco and funky house to help get this party started! DJ Just Honey - Stuck on Earth, One Sick Zoo, 5 Fathoms Music - NYC Just Honey spins nationally and internationally on a regular basis, as well as produces for her record label [ www.5FathomsMusic.com ] .
